About Little Leaves
Becoming both physicians and parents helped us realize the need and importance for everyday sun protective clothing for our family. My Thoughts:
When my kids were little, I loved buying swim pieces that had the natural UV protection built in. This was a great option not only for the kids, but even for me as an adult! But what about when they get older, or when we’re outside in the sun but not at the pool? Most people turn to sunscreen. I keep some with me almost all year, just in case we need it. Some of us burn easier than others, so it’s important to make sure we’re prepared. But have you ever learned about what goes in most sunscreen products? It can be a lot to put on your kid’s body without knowing the long term effects!

Adult Sun Protection
I ordered two different versions of their Sun Protective Shirts. These are light weight, long sleeve shirts that help block the harmful sun’s rays while also help you stay cool. These shirts are very soft, easy to wash, and have no bothersome tag to deal with. I ordered one in crimson red with sunglasses, and another that was plain in the same color. Each one comes in several sizes so you can find the perfect one for you. They are also available in several colors and designs for both men and women! I love that I can wear these as regular clothes, not just to the pool or the beach. And since they help wick moisture away, even when it’s hot, they help keep us cool and comfortable.
Child Sun Protection
And we can’t forget the kids items either. For my little girl, we ordered the Girls Sun Protective Shirt in Spring Birds Pink! It is adorable and I love how bright it is. Just as with the adult shirts, this is a long sleeve but lightweight shirt that offers UPF 50+! It can be machine washed and tumbled dry for easy care. Now, unlike the adult shirts, these are more fitted so they aren’t loose on the kids. It’s available in sizes from 2-10 and is also tagless so the kids won’t be complaining that it itches. I like that she can wear this to the pool or outside to play of course, but it’s still a sweet design and can be worn any time, even under a jacket.
The other item we ordered was the Toddler Sun Hat. This super cute hat helps keep the little ones’ head and face protected. They do not love to get sunscreen on their face for sure! And this helps make that easier by keeping them safe through the material. It is completely find to crush up and travel with, you just flop it back out and put it on them. It is 100% cotton and has a wide brim to help keep the sun from their eyes and faces. I love that we can toss it in the diaper bag or back pack and hit the road. The younger one even likes to put it on herself!
Natural Sun Protection with Little Leaves
Needless to say, I’ve found these shirts and the hat to be absolutely wonderful. The fit is great if you follow the sizing chart included on the site. Plus you can pick from several colors and designs so even if you need multiples of the same item, you can tell them apart. They are all easy to wash and wear which makes this mom’s life easier.
