Have your children been out of school long enough to start getting bored? Mine have and me handing them a book doesn’t seem to have the desired result I am looking for from them. Until this week. Now, believe it or not, they are asking…yes you read that correctly..asking to do Science as soon as they get up and moving in the morning. I know.. I am astounded too but thrilled to know that this Summer, I can keep the love of learning alive with Smart Lab Toys®.

Super Sweet Sugar Lab
Science doesn’t have to be a serious subject. Not at least with the Super Sweet Sugar Lab kit. This kit includes 6 test tubes, test tube stand, funnel, pipettes, rock candy sticks, gummy molds, glucose test strips, stir scoop, balloons, mixing cup, bubble wand, and a 24-page illustrated activity book.
It includes everything but… as my children said “ingredients”. You will of course need to add the food products to create the amazing projects found in the activity book.
We created a foaming, fizzing, lemonade! Can’t say that it was a hit with the little ones based on flavor, but it was a huge hit based on fun! Who doesn’t like creating things that foam and fizz right before your eyes?
Squishy Human Body
How cool would it be to be able to take off each layer of your body and be able to see how it all works? The Squishy Human Body allows you to do just that. The body model is 12 inches tall and you can lift off the different parts and organs. It is “so cool” according to my 6 and 10 year old boys. Forceps and tweezers are included to help you remove the squishy organs. The set includes a 24 page illustrated anatomy book and a board for you to sort the body pieces on as you dismember the body model.

Spa Lab Bath Bombs
This Summer, treat yourself and all your little divas to bath bombs with the Spa Lab Bath Bombs kit. This kit will have them begging to take a long hot bath! Our favorite bath bombs are the double bombs. As you set up the molds, you can create a small bath bombs inside a larger bath bomb. What a fun surprise.
The kit includes a detailed recipe book and ideas on how to experiment more with common household ingredients. Note: Make sure you establish guidelines or insist you be present when “experiments” are being done on bath bomb making. Why? Just take my word for it and you won’t be trying to get red dye off your entire dining room set!
Tiny Science!
This little Science set (tiny as in the name) includes a miniature cabinet, funnel, petri dish, beaker, Erlenmeyer flask, magnifier, test tube, pipette, graduated cylinder, measuring scoop, balance scale, and 3 weights. That’s a lot of gadgets for a Tiny Science kit!
All in all, there are over 20 experiments explained in the “tiny” instruction manual. But just because the equipment is tiny, doesn’t mean that it isn’t high quality science equipment. I was really impressed at the quality of the equipment included in the kit.
With the variety of kits listed above and all the activities that can be done with them, my crew is begging to drag them out every day. We have had a blast making – well trying to make – several sweet treats. We also have learned the correct names and locations of more bodily organs than I thought possible!
Smart Lab Toys® really do understand that learning also needs to be interesting.
