We’ve been on summer break for about a month now and it is flying by so quickly! I have two children that are ages 3 and 5, and we love to spend a lot of time reading together. My son starts kindergarten this coming fall and my daughter will start 4k. These are the best ages because they have been much more fascinated with reading since learning sight words. They’ve now been able to link the pictures to the words, and it’s opening up a whole new world for them. It brings me so much joy to watch my children light up when reading a book and I love books that have a beautiful message behind it.

My family and I love reading this beautiful book of inseparable friends! My kids love how endearing Eraser is and can relate to the duo not seeing eye to eye. One thing my children love about this book is that there aren’t too many words on one page. They seem to follow along better because the pictures are really what tell the story. The illustration in this book is just as charming as the characters. The more and more my children and I read this wonderful book, the more they are understanding the meaning behind it. It’s important to open your eyes to another perspective because it might just be the best thing that ever happened to you. Even at the end of the story, Pencil and Eraser learn together that not everything is black and white.
