Spring break week is one of the few times during the year that our entire family makes it a point to get together. Along with the weather usually being nice, the children are out of school which makes traveling easier. Knowing that our children are traveling with their little ones, I try to pack games and kits for the grans that will keep them entertained at the hotel. This year I packed some of the coolest games and kits from Horizon Group for our Spring break family meetup.

About Horizon Group
We trace our history in crafts to 1912 when, as a small company in New York City, we supplied trim and ribbon items to light manufacturers in the area. Today we are America’s leading supplier of Craft Components and Activity Kits for people of all ages- but especially children. Our brands are recognized and trusted for delivering high quality and innovation at an exceptional value and artistic exploration for children. The line uses vibrant graphics to inspire a strong call – to-action, whether by showing how easy it is to build and paint your own birdhouse, or how fun it is to get your hands dirty and mold your own stepping stone.
Jiggle Digs™

Dig right in and uncover your surprise with the Jiggle Digs™. A squishy jelly substance is all that is standing or wiggling between you and your goal. Maybe you will discover a fun shape like a Wiggle Poo or a Sweetasaurus Cupcake.

Your little one will have to squeeze, poke, prod and shake the mold as it jiggles and wiggles trying to keep the prize inside. Who doesn’t like to squeeze and squish things with their hands..

The Jiggle Digs™ come in a variety of fun and exciting themes like a Squishy Shell, and a Sweetsaurus. And not to mention the Jelly Brains, Gummi Galaxy, jell-i-cor, and the famous Wiggle Poo! Rated for children six (6) years and up, these awesome kits are available at your local Michael’s and Target stores.
Sugar Bomb

Do you have a little diva on your list? Help them create an amazing Sugar Bomb using sparkling glitter, colorful confetti, bright sprinkles, and a soap frosting that transforms into fizzy-bubbly-sparkly creation. Once the Sugar Bomb has dissolved, your little diva will enjoy the hidden surprise waiting for her.

Use the kit to create a masterpiece in any of the fun and exciting sets like the Kawaii Cute, Emoticon, Cosmic, and the Under the Sea set. These kits are available at A.C. Moore, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Target.
Lights and Stripes Zebra™

Your little one will be dancing all day with the Lights & Stripes Zebra™. This cute little zebra enjoys playing upbeat kids music sure to make them find their groove. This soft plush zebra has black and white stripes with colorful patterned fabric. It also has various textures to enhance tactile awareness.
Just press on the zebra’s tummy to wake it up. It really is too cute when it talks and sings songs. I also appreciate that the surface is washable and the electronics are removable. This zebra is rated from birth and up. My three (3) year old even loves dancing and singing with it.
The Lights and Stripes Zebra™ is available at several stores including Walmart and Target. You can find where this little zebra is available on the store locator here.
PAW Patrol Chase Learning Watch™

Get ready to join the PAW Patrol and protect Adventure Bay with this PAW Patrol Chase Learning Watch™! This watch includes four (4) exciting games ready to play so you can learn to recognize patterns, identify animal tracks and pick the right tool for the job with the PAW Patrol. The watch also has an alarm, timer, and a stopwatch.
Listen up as Ryder calls all the pups into action. As you know, if you are on the PAW Patrol team, no job is too big, no pup is too small! This watch is rated for ages 3-6 years and is can be found locally on the store locator here.
Butterfly Counting Pal™

Who doesn’t love butterflies? And this sweet one has bright number buttons and each play songs to help you learn all the colors and numbers. The Butterfly Counting Pal™ lights up and shows all the colors of the rainbow. Help your little one develop their fine motor skills with the hanging pieces that squeak, crinkle, or rattle when grabbed.
Since we are in the toss the toy and watch granma pick it up stage, I appreciate that this butterfly can be attached to the high chair or stroller to help keep it where it belongs. And at nap time, I can set it to play soft classical melodies while we both drift off for a while. While the Butterfly Counting Pal™ is rated from birth up, it does have a hard plastic area that would warrant parental attention when around baby. Once they can sit up and reach, this will quickly become their favorite toy.
Scout’s Learning Lights Remote™

What little one doesn’t like playing with the remote? Now they can and will be learning on every channel (or button) they press. The Scout’s Learning Lights Remote™ role-play toy has 17 buttons! Now that should be enough to keep any little busy for a while. The remote has over 100 phrases built in along with sounds and music that are all geared towards building fine motor skills.
It’s easy to switch between modes for role-play and learning activities. In the learning mode, the buttons introduce numbers and letters. There are silly pretend channels that inspire imaginative play time. Oh, you can even switch the remote to a Spanish channel and learn several common Spanish phrases. Press the music channel and enjoy three (3) different music styles as well as listening to the rain, snow and wind sound effects.
The Scout’s Learning Lights Remote™ is rated for six (6) months and up. It is available at local stores like Kmart, Walmart, and Learning Express. To find it locally, enter your zip code on the store locator here.
Creative Roots Paint Your Own!

For those that love to create works of Art, how about painting a colorful creation to be displayed anywhere that will make you smile. With the Creative Roots Paint Your Own! your little ones can unleash their creativity while they paint their stepping stone with just a little bit of help from granma.

Huggables Pool Float from SwimWays

Now you might be thinking that pool floats are not usually found in an Spring break packing list but these Huggables by SwimWays are just too much fun to pass up on. They are enormous pool floats that actually hug you!
We plan to use our Teddy Bear to announce to our little ones our vacation plans for this Summer. Now where would we be going that there would be a bear that might hug you? Guess you will have to wait and find out like the children. These adorable animal floats are the only pool floats that I am aware of that actually wrap their arms around you in a “bear hug” (pun intended).
Huggables come in three (3) designs including a Teddy Bear Pool Float™, a Panda Bear Pool Float™, and the Sloth Pool Float™. Each are approximately 50 inches by 36 inches by 40 inches when inflated. They are huge! I like that they have a cup holder built in and are easy to inflate with a portable pump. Depending on the style you are shopping for, you will find all the designs at Walmart and Amazon.com and the Teddy Bear at Bed Bath and Beyond.
