Spring Into Fun With Winning Moves Games #SpringFunMDR

March 27, 2019 by Misty Stephens

This spring bring home the fun, with great new games from Winning Moves!  They have a grand assortment of games that will appeal to all types of gamers from toddlers to seniors.  Whether you enjoy a zombie picnic, offing relatives in pursuit of an inheritance, building a block tower, or even tossing pigs, there is a game for you.  Plus much much more because this is only a small assortment of the thrilling games you can play from Winning Moves Games.

13 dead End Drive, Kozo, Stink Bug, Apocalyptic Picnic

13 Dead End Drive

Winning Moves brought this game from 1994 back by popular demand.  Now our kids can enjoy the fun of trying to be the heir to Aunt Agatha’s fortune.  All you have to do is be the one who makes it out the front door, while your picture is on the wall.  Easy enough except the others are all trying to kill you with various traps in the house.

Due to the details and the walls, this game looks amazing.  Game play is easy and fun, and the traps are great.  In the picture you can see the chandelier crashing down on the poor unsuspecting character.  Not only do you have to avoid the chandelier, the stairs, the fireplace, the book shelf, and the danger of a suit of armor, but anyone can move any character.  Therefore at any point your secret person can be placed in eminent danger.  The style of play is different and makes the game much more fun because of all the mystery.  We thoroughly enjoy this game.

Kozo

In this game that gained popularity first in Asia, you stack 3-dimensional wooden pieces.  You can play with 2 people or two teams, and you need to employ a gentle touch and good strategic play.  This game was a challenge because the pieces are not the same shape like other building games.  You have to keep the center clear, and add a black balance block every turn after you stack your wooden piece.  My kids and husband had fun with it, and were laughing and carrying on while I made dinner one night.  It was good to hear the laughter.  It was all quiet until they were near making it fall, then it got real loud.  This kind of game is great for the kids minds, because it really makes them stop and ponder.

Stink Bug

Stink Bug is a cute game where you get to play in a pile of leaves.  As you play, you pick a leaf , turn it over and try to make a match.  There are cute little bugs also hiding in the pile which give you the ability to give another player a card, or sneak one from them instead.  Plus the devious little Stink Bug who will make you turn in all your unmatched leaves.  This game is adorable for the younger game players.  My 4 year old niece loves it and always wants to play it.  She bugs her mom often through out the day to play Stink Bug.  I think the graphics and art are very nicely done, and the leaf shaped cards are unique and easy to grab for young fingers.

Apocalyptic Picnic

This action packed card game takes the family reunion to a whole other level.  Unfortunately the “potato salad” is tainted and the family is turning into zombies.  If you are the last to survive you win!  Game play starts with everyone having five family members, one of which is a zombie.  You have cards in your hand that allow you to bite others with your zombie.  They can block with cards, and even heal their family turned zombies with grandma’s chicken noodle soup.  The game is zany and fun.  This is by far my 15 year old son’s favorite out of the bunch, and he always wants to play.  The art is cool, and the characters are fun.  This game is easy to learn, and great entertainment.

Pass the Pigs Party

In this game players get to throw pigs onto the table and try to match them to the positions on the cards.  Play goes around the table until a player matches their pigs to the card, then they win that card.  Play continues until a player gets the set amount of points.  This game was a hoot, and so different!  I mean when have you ever tossed cute little pigs as die?  The pigs were cute and different colored.  I thought this was just novel, and exciting.  Our youth at church would go hog-wild for this game, and it is easy enough for younger players too!

pig party

After all the great game choices, how can you get just one?  This Easter fill the children’s baskets with pigs, and zombies instead of teeth rotting sugary candy.  Then you can have a weekly game night and spend quality time with your kids before they leave the nest.  I try and play with the whole family often because soon my eldest will leave for the Air Force and I want to have a lot of great memories to get me through those days.  Plus I want all three of my kids to look back on their youth with fondness and appreciation for the quality time my husband and I spent with them.

Which game is your favorite?
