My children must get their lack of coordination from me. Even my grandchildren are not very coordinated. This means we spend more time than most families on dealing with scrapes and bruises. Add to this, they love taking hikes and being outside. But, most of us are so sensitive that all we have to do is walk past poison ivy and we are covered in bright red blotches that itch like no tomorrow. With warmer weather coming, I have already stocked up on Marie’s Original Formulas soaps and skin repair creams.
Marie’s Original Formulas
Over 25 years ago, renowned herbalist Marie [last name] designed a natural poison ivy oak soap on her 40-acre farm. First sold in local shops and markets, the soap rapidly gained popularity due to its effectiveness. Marie continued to master her craft, developing other effective homeopathic remedies. Acquired by someone who shared her passion for herbal remedies, Marie’s Original Formulas was incorporated in 1999. Since that time, the company has expanded its product line to include natural, organic recipes designed by burn specialist Miriam Rosenfeld.
Marie’s Original Formulas stands firmly behind the philosophy that there are healing properties in nature. Celebrated by medical professionals and consumers alike, the all-natural, organic products composed of the best quality essential oils and herbs sourced from North American growers have a long record of effectiveness. Used in hospitals and nursing care facilities, they are free of harsh chemicals, parabens, GMOs, SLS, petroleum, phthalates, gluten, artificial dyes and scents, to ensure that they are
100% safe and free of harmful side effects. Above all, they are popular for one simple reason – they work.

This oil is used to provide calming relief for muscle and joint pain. The organic oil is made from essential oils and natural herbs. Simply rub on affected areas to soothe muscles and drastically improve circulation. It also helps to relieve coughs and sinus pressure.
My Thoughts
I am already a fan of Marie’s products. We never leave on a trip without having thePoison Ivy Soap in our bags. This stuff is amazing. Just wash the irritated areas and the active ingredients in the soap calms the surface irritants and removes the oils from the skin. The ingredients in the soap neutralize the poison ivy oil to stop burning the skin.
Since we travel a lot, the change in weather, water, and even bed linens at different destinations can cause skin irritations. Showering with the Itch Relief Soaphelps to keep skin from drying out and stops the itch. I like that the soap is free from all dyes and detergents so I can use it on even the youngest of the group.
And since we are prone to accidents and injuries, another product that is always in our travel kit is theSkin Repair Cream. This cream is a blend of both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory essential oils and natural herbs. It provides immediate relief from pain of scrapes and scratches.
I have a pretty large scar from having several knee surgeries. I will be applying the Advanced Scar Treatmentto the scar for the next month or so to try to reduce the appearance and stiffness in it. It would be nice if the scar would fade and soften up.
Both the Wound Powder and the Chinese Oilare new to me. The wound powder does provide immediate relief when applied to a burn (I reached out and removed the meat thermometer with my fingers and burned the thumb, index and middle fingers). All three fingertips blistered right away. The wound powder did help relieve the pain.
Our daughter Meagan is a therapist and was familiar with the Chinese oil. She says she uses it on clients that have muscle cramps after working out. Since most muscle cramps are a result of lack of oxygen, this oil increases circulation which in turn increases oxygen to the effected muscles.
If your family spends any time outside, you should have Marie’s Original Formulas in your travel bag. Having them with you can saves hours of suffering and keep from ruining a day outside.
