As a child, I remember visiting my family in Maryland. They had a large farm with sprawling acres of land, a beautiful, multi-story farmhouse and a bay side view of the Chesapeake Bay that was a beautiful in the summer, as it was on Thanksgiving morning with the geese flying by. My aunt had a parlor room in the house with lovely antique sitting chairs, a fireplace and a beautiful upright piano that would draw the attention of any curious child, myself included.
With permission, I would spend hours in that room (door closed, of course) and hammer away at those keys, trying diligently to play songs I had heard others play before me. With each season, I couldn’t wait to visit Aunt Barb’s again and run into the parlor to have another crack at that piano. She had several song books, but only a couple always managed to catch my attention and I would play the same songs over and over again until I mastered them. With teaching myself songs like “The Rose” and “Für Elise”, I found a passion for the piano at a young age and it still resonates with me at the ripe age of 46.
While I don’t have that grand piano in my own home, today’s technology has enabled me to carry on the love of the piano and music with my own family, thanks to the fabulous design of the Casio Keyboard.

It has a library of over 160+ songs you can choose from and teach even the most novice of players how to play. You can also create your own, original scores and play them back to put sound to paper.
The back-lit LCD display makes it vibrant and bright enough to see the song as it plays for you. It also illuminates as you record and play. The keyboard has 61 piano-type keys, which are the same size as any standard acoustic piano. 
Casio has also brought their electric pianos into the 21st Century. It comes equipped with a USB-MIDI port so you can connect any MAC, PC, Android or iOS based device with no drivers or special installations needed. It supports and comes with a built-in smartphone shelf to hold your device and access your favorite music apps.
The Casio CT-X700 has rejuvenated the music lover in me and inspired me to play again. It has also sparked an interest in my daughter and I am pleased as punch to have my passion carry on to the next generation. The best part are the memories I have shared with her and we can now make our own memories for future generations in our family.
