Add These Winning Moves Games to Your Game Stash #SpringFunonMDR

February 22, 2019 by Sherryl Wilson

Does your family enjoy playing games? Our family loves getting together to play games and spend time in friendly competition. Finding games that can either be played by a wide range of players or ones that can be adapted can at times be a challenge. That’s why we have added these Winning Moves Games to our Game Stash.

Winning Moves Games

Winning Moves USA (WMUSA) is a leading maker of board games, card games, and puzzles. Since WMUSA’s first year of operation in 1995, the company has forged a close relationship with one of the world’s largest game companies, Hasbro, Inc., owner of Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley. WMUSA also has a great relationship with Seven Towns, Ltd. (the owners of the Rubik’s brand). As a result, many long-lived Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley games & Rubik’s puzzles are now marketed by WMUSA!

WMUSA proudly markets best-selling titles like Pass The Pigs®, Rubik’s® Cube, Scattergories® Categories, Rack-O®, No Stress Chess®, and hot new sellers like The Rubik’s® Void Puzzle®, Pass The Pigs® Big Pigs™, and Classic Rummy Tiles™.

Some of our favorite games:

13 Dead End Drive

This fan favorite game was first released back in 1994. It is back by popular demand and is one that will surely be a hit with your family. The challenge is to make sure you are the only remaining heir so you will inherit Aunt Agatha’s fortune.

Kozo

This is not your ordinary stacking game. It requires strategic play and a nimble touch as you place pieces in this 3 dimensional wooden stacking game.

Pretty Pretty Princess

Can you gathering all the matching jewels and crown before anyone else? This dress up game requires you to collect your own matching jewelry set in the same color (necklace, bracelet, ring and earrings). Once you have all the needed pieces of matching jewelry and the crown, you will be the one declared the Pretty Pretty Princess!

Stink Bug

Based on a matching game, the version includes little stink bugs! Spread out the pile of leaves and start searching for matches. Depending on what you turn over, you may get to take a card from someone else, or lose your cards! The winner is the one with the most pairs (matches) at the end of the game.

Apocalyptic Picnic

Imagine your family reunion with a plot twist. This is an action packed game where everyone is turning into Zombies when they eat the tainted potato salad! What will you do to make sure you are the last player to survive this picnic gone wrong and win the game?

My Thoughts:

Keeping the crew entertained especially when it is too cold to be outside for long usually means pulling out a couple of games. It’s important to me that the games are fun but also require interaction between the ones playing.

Team Work

Learning to work together, accept defeat, and be a gracious winner are all important skills that playing games can strengthen. We recently added several new games from the Winning Moves Games collection that have had us laughing and reliving funny memories.

My girls are married now with little ones of their own. They loved playing Pretty Pretty Princess when they were little (and apparently some still do!) and were so excited when I pulled the new version of the game out at lunch. Of course our little Miss Allie was determined to be crowned the Princess and did her best to keep the rest of us from gathering the jewelry needed.

Games for all ages

I was surprised that the Stink Bug game had the older children entertained as much as the younger ones. This is one of the games that can be played (with little rule changes) by all the age ranges.

Kozo is another game that can be played with most age ranges. The younger ones used both hands to place the pieces while the older players could only use two fingers!

The 13 Dead End Drive had the older players hooting and yelling from the other room. Some of them are old enough to remember playing the game when they were younger and enjoyed teaching their children how to play.

One of my favorites is the Apocalyptic Picnic. Tainted potato salad and zombies? Oh my! Save the family and not become a zombie. It is a fun game to play with the tweens.

If your family enjoys playing board games, these games by Winning Moves should be in your game cabinet. Enjoy hours of fun, fellowship, and competition among family members.
