I love to give personalized gifts to my friends and family! I love shopping for just the right thing and being able to customize it to celebrate a holiday, birthday, or other special occasion. So when one of my daughters who loves all things vintage recently got married, I knew I had to find just the right thing. Leave it to Alexander and Co. to offer beautiful pieces of vintage wedding artwork that I could make special just for her and my new son-in-law. It was super easy to customize for their recent nuptials so let me share with you this awesome piece of art!
About Alexander and Co.
Known for his vintage inspired artwork with a custom twist, Chicago-based artist Alexander Doll always seemed to be in search of the perfect gift for those close. Finding this “thoughtful” item is often easier said than done and he invariably ended up creating something from scratch. The end result is usually rooted in a happy experience they both shared or something they really love, but the true joy comes from watching them process what they’ve just received.
At first glance, it’s a creative and (hopefully) cool representation of something meaningful to them, and after a closer look, they realize their name(s) along with other personal touches are seamlessly integrated into the art. The result is a precious piece that could only have been made for them.
Vintage advertisement inspired artwork designed to seamlessly integrate unique personalization. Each piece features hand set typography rather than one size fits all auto-filled text. Artwork themes are based upon specific life events, interests, passions or hobbies that resonate between gift giver and recipient. Custom Alexander artwork stands out as simply unique wall decor, but truly shines as a thoughtful, personalized gift.
I Do – Vintage Wedding Artwork
The wedding collection artwork from Alexander and Co. offers wonderful wedding pieces with a gorgeous vintage flair. This beautiful piece is customized with all the details of the wedding from the location, names, and the date, as well as being able to pick the couple’s details like skin tone, venue name, and more! It is available in several sizes and framed or unframed. We ordered the 18×24 piece in a classic frame with all of their ceremony details added.
My Thoughts
All of my kids are wonderfully different. This particular daughter who got married is all about vintage flair, recreating decades old styles, and just being her own person no matter what the current trends may be. Her wedding was no different of course! It was in a small wooden church, with pews packed to capacity with friends and family. There was little besides the vows that were considered traditional, and that was perfect for this couple.
I wanted to give the new couple something not only to remember this momentous occasion with but that also plays into the vintage theme to display in their new home. So the vintage wedding artwork collection from Alexander and Co. was perfect! With just a few clicks and keystrokes, I was able to fill in the couple’s names, the color for the font, venue name, city/state/country name, wedding date, and the skin tones for both the bride and the groom. I ordered a medium size piece which measures 18×24″ with a classic frame, straight from the company itself.
The entire piece is designed and produced in the USA.
Plus each piece is individually crafted with custom fonts and hand drawn illustrations. And there are multiple pieces which can be ordered so they match. For example, you can order “save the date” cards in this same theme, as well as “thank you” cards for after the wedding. You can also order the personalized “I Do” piece with a border around it, leaving room for guests to sign the artwork that will hang in the couple’s home after the big day is over. You pick exactly what you want, from this theme or several others, to find just the right, perfectly personalized, vintage wedding artwork piece.
My daughter and her new husband loved this gift when we presented it to them to hang in their first home. While it may move places over the years, and certainly be packed and unpacked as they move to new places, it will always serve as a beautiful reminder of their special day. It makes for a great piece of art just by itself with the older feeling of the font and design, much like you’d expect to see preserved in a museum somewhere. I would definitely order from them again in the future, not only for wedding pieces but also from their other collections which you can see and the Alexander and Co. website today.
