If you want to promote your products or blog to potential customers, then it’s a good idea to host an online giveaway. Facebook has millions of users so this is an excellent place to hold the giveaway. You want to promote the giveaway at least a few days or weeks before it happens. Also give prizes that your subscribers will want. If your blog is centered around meals for busy moms, then offer a free subscription to your new meal kit service.

Set an end date

Don’t let the giveaway drag on for too long. When you first begin the giveaway, people show interest in it but then they cool off. You can keep the interest going by setting a deadline for the contest to end. By doing this you inspire people not to delay in entering.

What are your Goals?

You should think about your goals for the giveaway. Do you want more traffic for your blog? Are you trying to obtain more followers on Facebook or Twitter? Write down some simple goals and let this be your motivation as you decide on which prizes to offer.

Offer Multiple Prizes

Many people would be hesitant to enter a giveaway when only one prize would be offered. It is better to offer multiple prizes so that more than one person gets a chance to win. Start out from small prizes then move on to the bigger ones.

Make an exciting Landing Page

If you prepare a landing page for the giveaway, it has to be exciting. Use high-quality images and make sure the typography is large enough to understand. Your message should be clear, and the entry requirements need to be simple.

Choose the best Platform

Choose the best platform for the giveaway. If most of your blog’s readers utilize Facebook, then it makes sense to use it. Read articles that offer good tips for running a Facebook giveaway. Incorporate some of those techniques into your own strategy.

Announce the winner

Make a big deal out of the winner. If you have a YouTube channel, reach out to the winner and invite him to speak on one of your videos. This would especially work if the winner is one of your subscribers. Another idea would be to write a featured blog post on the winner.

Promote it everywhere!

Use a variety of promotion methods. Email your newsletter subscribers and mention the giveaway in your blog posts. If you’re doing Instagram videos, talk about the giveaway details. You can also appear on local public access TV programs to discuss your company and the giveaway.

State the Rules

You want to be clear on the rules. State clearly what the qualifications are so that there won’t be confusion among entrants. This also helps you avoid some of the legal issues that could come up when holding giveaways.

Focus on your Audience

There’s nothing wrong with trying to gain new followers or subscribers with the giveaway, but the focus should be on your core audience. They are the ones who give regular support and it is only right to give them first notice of your giveaway.
