Just because school is back in session for a lot of the country, not everyone has started back yet or if you homeschool like we do, there are still trips coming up before it starts to cool off for the fall. I hate forgetting things at home and have to buy a replacement while we’re out of town, so my packing lists can be a little odd. But my family rolls with it now after these many years and it’s paid off in the past by having things like a folding walking cane or a sewing kit tucked away in our bags. I thought I’d give you guys a little input into what I pack for travel and also show you our favorite items from LotFancy today!

My Review:
So we took a lot of various trips around the country this summer and have a few more still coming up. I try to pack not just our clothes and toiletries of course. But there are always “other” things that I usually pack too, depending on who is all going with us and/or our destination.
For example, because many of my family members are active and busy, I have a bag of assorted “medical” type items like pain reliever, sunscreen, tweezers, etc. I also have the following LotFancy products that go in this bag/box as well:
- Digital Thermometer – This is great for kids or adults as you can take the body’s temperature in several methods. It provides both Fahrenheit and Celsius measurements and gives you a reading in 15-25 seconds. I keep it in the clear carrying case to keep it clean and in one piece.
- Elbow Compression Sleeve – These are wonderful for when we over-stretch our elbow from swinging the golf clubs or frisbee too many times. It’s tight fitting, but that helps keep any swelling down and you don’t worry about it falling off. We have two pairs, the original black/gray combination as well as the black and blue set.
- Knee Brace Compression Sleeve – These sleeves are not only great for sport injuries but in case my husband’s arthritis flares up. It’s nice and tight, so it holds everything in place, plus it’s moisture wicking so your skin isn’t soaking wet just because you’re out in the heat. I also keep two sets of these on hand, the original in the black & gray colors, and the others in a black and blue set.
See what I mean? Most people don’t think to pack items like these but they are a must have for such a large and varied crew like mine. On any given trip, we may have grandparents all the way down to our adult children and grandchildren. And sometimes other people’s children! LOL So of course, I have a toy bag/box that comes with us too, especially when we’re heading to the beach or the lake.
- Beach Sand Toys Set – First off, all the toys fit inside this bucket which makes it easy for travel and carrying to and from the beach of course. It includes 7 toys like a bucket, sand sifter, shovel, a sand mold, watering can, and more. It’s definitely seen it’s fair share of sand castle building events this year. Plus it’s in bright red/black/yellow colors and it’s also available in pink/blue tones in case you need more than one!
- Toy Car – The thing I like most about this toy car is that the kids can play with it inside or outside and you can just brush/rinse it clean. There are no sharp corners or edges so even the youngest of our group can take a turn. We used it mostly on the beach to go with our sand castle skills and sometimes inside our room when the weather would turn bad. And if your kids are creative, and get it messy with weird stuff, you can pop it into the dishwasher to get it clean again.
- Stuffed Dog – Several of my grandchildren love stuffed animals, so we never leave home without a few to hand out, especially for long flights or car rides. This sweet guy is soft and cuddly, and looks like a golden retriever. He can even be folded in half for easier carrying or tucked (mostly) into a backpack or under the stroller seat when hands get full.
- Teddy Bear – He stands at 17 inches tall, with brightly colored fur and a beautiful bow around his neck. The eyes and nose are specially mounted so they can’t be pulled or chewed off by curious little ones. Bear also doubles as a plushy pillow when he’s needed.
- Musical Toddler Toy – You know how much the younger kids love to push buttons, brightly colored pictures, and music. This fun musical toy is decorated with a fun scene with a little kid, animals, and even a sun and sky. Pushing the buttons causes animal noises or fun music to play for them to laugh and dance with. And it has an easy to carry handle, perfect for those little fingers that are still learning how to grip and carry.
I’ll admit it…my kids always lose their sunglasses. Some may turn up under a couch, behind a car seat, or in a toy box somewhere, but they never seem to have any when they need them the most. So being a thoughtful Mom, I make sure to keep a few pairs with me when we travel, either in my purse or tucked away in the car somewhere, just in case. Let me show you what our favorites are so far this summer:
- Aviator Sunglasses for Women – These are really light weight, come in a variety of colors, and well…they just look good on anyone who tries them on. I like that the nose pieces are adjustable so you can get the perfect fit, and they have HD polarized lenses to stop you from squinting and straining your eyes in the bright sun.
- 2018 Trendy Retro Round Sun Shades – These fun pink mirrored lenses remind me of my own childhood. They offer UV protection, come with their own case and cleaning cloth, plus the arms are spring loaded for, so they fit a variety of face sizes.
- Cat Eye Brow Bar Sunglasses – Taking the cat eye look to the next level! This pair of sun glasses have metal frames and a UV rating to help protect your eyes in the sunlight. And again, the spring loaded hinges definitely help them fit almost anyone who wants to wear them for the day. This set also includes a carrying case to protect them while traveling as well as a cleaning cloth.
- Retro Round Sunglasses for Kids – And the younger ones can’t be left out of course. That fun round shape that’s making a comeback in a bright pink frame with pink lenses make these perfect for any young girl. Don’t worry, the lenses are scratch proof and shatter proof which makes them even better in my book. (And they have other colors too, not just pink)
And finally, part of being on vacation is relaxing, whether it’s in a huge jacuzzi tub in your bathroom, a hot tub on the back deck, or even in the dark for a midnight swim. What’s not to love about adding some of these?
- Flameless Flickering Candles with Timer – This is a 12 pack of warm white, unscented candles that flicker and move just like real flames on a candle. But these aren’t a fire hazard nor do you have to worry about curious little fingers wanting to get a closer look. Set these out on the deck, dining room table, or even use them as a spare nightlight if that gets left at home on accident. And the timer can be set for 6 hours on and 18 hours off so you can just turn them on when you arrive and not mess with them again until it’s time to go home.
The wonderful things about all of these items is that not only are they great (if not a little random) to take on a trip with you, they are still terrific to use at home too. Trust me, you can get all sorts of items, these are just our favorite items from LotFancy for our family. Make sure to check them out on Amazon to see all the products they offer.
