At-Home Solutions to Clear Clogged Drains

- Use Hot Water – This might sound simple but it is a bit trickier than that. Basically, if you pour hot water directly, it would turn to lukewarm because of the cold water already existing in the drain. So, you could boil some on the stove in the biggest pot you have and add some salt to it, to help remove the flux.
- Use Soda or Pepsi – Everyone knows that soda works great for removing tooth enamel but what people don’t know is that soda or Pepsi has such a high acid content that it works wonders on clogged drains too. It has phosphoric acid that would loosen and even dissolve most of the junk that’s clogging your drain. Just let it fizz and pop in the clogged drain for a while and let it work its magic.
- Use Baking Soda With Other Useful Things – There is no clog that the following combinations of baking soda cannot remove –
- Baking Soda and Vinegar – Vinegar and Baking Soda are the best combination when you want to make a volcano but did you know that they work against clogs as well? One part of baking soda along with one part of vinegar (white) can be put in the drain to soak in overnight. Flush it in the morning which hot water and see the wonders.
- Baking Soda and Salt – Take for parts of boiling hot water and mix one part of baking soda and one part of salt with it. Leave this solution in your drain and let your clog soak in it, and then finally drain it in the morning.
