Get Excited for School with these School Bus Rice Krispie Treats #Back2School18

August 19, 2018 by Pam Maynard

Riding the Bus- One of the most Exciting Parts of School!

When my son was going into Kindergarten, the most exciting thing for him was RIDING THE SCHOOL BUS!  He couldn’t WAIT to get on that big yellow bus and wave good-bye to us!
Now he’s a Sophomore in High School and he still loves riding the School Bus.  All his friends ride the same route so they can chat and listen to music and take silly pics all the way home.  Some of the best school memories of his are made on that School Bus!
Do your kids look forward to that Big Yellow School Bus coming to pick them up?  Get them even more excited with these fun Rice Krispie Treats decorated like a School Bus!

Directions:

Set aside a half hour and get the kids to help for this one!
Unwrap each Kellogg’s Rice Krispie Treat and discard the wrappers.
Attach the small round plastic tip of the Wilton Red Icing.
Gently roll out the yellow fondant to about 1/8″ thick. Use a little bit of powdered sugar on your rolling surface and rolling pin if the fondant is sticky.

Next, roll out the black icing to about 1/8″ thick and use the mini round cookie cutter for the school bus wheels. Smear a little bit of frosting on the back and adhere to the school bus.

I didn’t measure, I just made sure they fit on the school bus. Use the toothpick and red frosting as ‘glue’ to attach to the school bus.
