Now that school is over and most of the daily commitments to sports or other activities, we find that our evenings are open..to boredom! Winning Moves Games has just what we were looking for as we bring the family together this summer. Nothing says family more than an evening of fellowship and laughter.
About Winning Moves
Winning Moves USA (WMUSA) is a leading maker of board games, card games, and puzzles. Since WMUSA’s first year of operation in 1995, the company has forged a close relationship with one of the world’s largest game companies, Hasbro, Inc., owner of Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley. WMUSA also has a great relationship with Seven Towns, Ltd. (the owners of the Rubik’s brand). As a result, many long-lived Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley games & Rubik’s puzzles are now marketed by WMUSA!
Here are our new family games to keep us interacting over the summer months:
Monopoly Mega
This is a new twist on the classic board we all know and love. Monopoly Mega introduces nine (9) new properties and seven (7) new states! In Monopoly®: The Mega Edition, be the first to build skyscrapers and enjoy a faster game thanks to the Speed Die which was invented by Winning Moves!
This version is listed for players 8 and up and is set to have 2 to 8 players.
No Stress Chess
Learn how to play Chess with this board game. It teaches you how to play using illustrated cards that explain the moves and possible actions of each piece. Once you are comfortable playing, flip the board over and play with out the assisted notes printed on the board.
This game is recommended for players 7 and up.
Rubik’s Junior Bear
The “training” bear Rubik’s cube. Delight little ones with the twisting parts as they build their eye and hand coordination.
This game is recommended for players 4 and up.
Classic Rummy Tiles
Based on the classic game of Rummy, this version uses tiles and is so much easier for younger players with smaller hands. Tiles are set up in runs, sets, and points.
This game is recommended for players 8 and up. It can be played with 2 to 4 players.
My Thoughts:
During the school year, even though we homeschool; our schedule is crazy! Even so, we think it is important to spend time together with the entire family and hold a family dinner and game night each week. I encourage families to make time for a Family Game Night no matter how many kids they might have or their ages because it encourages non-screen time as well as other skills such as hand and eye coordination, reading, imagination, and even strategy. And with so many game choices from Winning Moves Games, there are titles for everyone to enjoy together.
Now that it is summer break, we have more time to spend together and recently stocked up on a few more games. While the older ones are enjoying the Monopoly Mega version, some of the younger ones are showing just how fast they are in Math on the Classic Rummy Tiles game.
Oh, and the 2 year old informed me that the Rubik’s Junior Bear wasn’t for grown ups. What?!? I think I enjoy playing with it more than they do. In fact, he rides around with me in the car everywhere I go.
Of course the reason was so I would have something to hand the little ones when they started getting restless..but I admit I have been known to pull it out and play with it while waiting in line at the bank or drive through.
And if your house is anything like ours, those little instruction booklets seem to just disappear especially when there is a debate on the scoring or play. Now you can download the rules for any game and keep the night rolling.
Stock up your family game night with new games for hours of fun! All of these games and more can be purchased online at Winning Moves or at a local retail store near you.
