The basis behind the storyteller is to encourage the reduction of screen time while stimulating children’s imagination through on demand storytelling. By asking a couple of questions, a story is created based on the answers. Children have control over the key points in the story and they can change them up with each story. All they have to do is select the hero, the supporting character, the main object, and location for their story.

My Fabulous Storyteller by Lunii already comes with pre-loaded story options for forty-eight possible stories. Your child will make a few selections on the characters, location and an object they would like to have used in their story. Each of the stories run around three to seven minutes and then they ask the child if they want to create another story. Your child can be entertained for as long as they want to listen to new stories!
Colton usually picks the boy character and the castle for his stories. He changes up the object almost every time. Some of the stories are according to him “more exciting” than others but he likes them all. I really like that the device can be run by our little one and he doesn’t have to come find us for a new story. This is especially true at bedtime when he is expected to remain in his room and get settled for the night.
Along with the pre-loaded stories, the My Fabulous Storyteller has an option where parents can download additional story packs. Simply visit lunii online and download the luniilibrary. Create an account and download the stories.
I think this is a great little device. It encourages children to use their imagination and doesn’t have them tied to a console or screen. And because it doesn’t require an electrical connection or access to wifi, it’s great to take along when running errands or when traveling. The My Fabulous Storyteller runs off an internal battery that is quickly charged and ready to go.
Colton loves stories from his Nana, and he has had so much fun telling “her” stories with his device. Storytelling is almost a lost art, so I am thankful my mother encourages the little ones to use their imagination when they make up stories for each other.
If your little ones love listening to stories, especially ones that they get to pick the basis of the story line; this device would be so cool for them. While they are enjoying listening, you will be nurturing their vocabulary and listening skills. It’s a win win as far as our family is concerned.
