Qubs Toys Screen-Free Toys That Actually Keep Kids Off Screens #SpringintoSummerFun

Disclosure Statement for Mom Does Reviews
I don’t know about you, but lately it feels like screens are everywhere. Between tablets, TVs, and even school devices, it’s a constant battle in our house. That’s exactly why I’ve been on the hunt for screen-free toys for kids that actually hold their attention longer than five minutes.

Because let’s be honest — most “educational” toys end up forgotten in a bin by the end of the week.

But recently, we found something that’s been a total game-changer during those after-school hours when everyone is tired and cranky. And even better, it keeps my kids engaged without asking for “just one more show.”

If you’ve been trying to gently pull your kids away from screens without a full meltdown, this might be exactly what you need.

Why Qubs Screen-Free Toys Work for Us

I first came across Qubs Toys when I was looking for something a little different from the usual plastic, noisy toys that seem to take over the house. What immediately stood out to me is how their system is designed around interactive, audio-based play instead of screens.

So instead of staring at a tablet, kids are actually listening, imagining, and creating.

Their Qubitunes console works as the base for all of their games, and it turns playtime into something that feels more open-ended and creative. I’ve already shared my full experience with the Starter Set in a previous review, and that’s really where everything begins.

Once you have that console, you can add different games to match your child’s interests. And honestly, that flexibility has been a lifesaver because my kids never stick to just one thing for long.

It feels a lot less like “another toy” and more like a system that grows with them.

Screen-Free Toys That Keeps Them Busy (and Happy)

Bernards Kitchen

Bernard’s Kitchen: Cook-Off Expansion

This one has brought so much energy into our house. If your kids love a little friendly competition, this is such a fun addition.

It adds a whole new set of cooking challenges to the original Bernard’s Kitchen game, and the pace is fast. My kids love racing against the clock to complete recipes, and it definitely gets a little chaotic — but in a good way.

There are ten new levels, so it doesn’t feel repetitive, which I really appreciate. And because it builds on the original game, it adds more variety instead of replacing something they already love.

I’ve noticed that it really gets them thinking quickly and working together, especially when they’re trying to beat a level. Plus, it gives me a few minutes to finish dinner without hearing “Mommmm, I’m bored.”

Just a heads up — you do need the original Bernard’s Kitchen to use this expansion, but if you already have it, this is such a fun way to keep things fresh.
Dino Sounds

Jurassic Sounds | Dino Roars & Facts

This one is a huge hit with my dinosaur-loving kid. And honestly, even I’ve learned a few things just from listening in.

Kids get to explore dinosaurs like T-Rex and Triceratops while mixing different sounds to create their own little prehistoric world. So it’s not just listening — they’re actually building something creative with the sounds.

What I love most is how naturally learning is built in. They’re picking up facts and information, but it doesn’t feel like a lesson at all.

Instead, it feels like play.

This has been one of those go-to options when I need something that keeps them engaged but also a little calmer. It sparks their imagination, and they’ll sit there layering sounds and telling stories way longer than I expected.

Soundscapes – Calm & Warmth

This one feels like a deep breath in the middle of a busy day.

After school, when everyone is overstimulated and a little on edge, this has been such a nice way to reset. Kids can mix sounds like rain, wind, fire, and even nighttime city noises to create their own calming environment.

And it’s so simple to use, which I really appreciate.

My younger one especially gravitates toward this when they need quiet time. It helps them slow down without me having to tell them to relax, which is honestly rare.

It’s also great before bedtime or during those moments when the house just feels a little too loud. Instead of turning on a show, this gives us a much calmer alternative.

Interactive Animal Quiz Game

If your kids love trivia or asking a million questions, this one is such a fun fit.

It turns learning about animals into a game, with questions, facts, and sounds that keep things interesting. And you can play with multiple people, which makes it perfect for family time.

We’ve had a few spontaneous game nights with this one, and it always turns into a mix of laughter and a little friendly competition.

I love that it works for a slightly older age group too, so it’s something they won’t outgrow right away.

And because it’s interactive, they stay engaged in a way that feels totally different from passive screen time.

MC Mutts – Kids Music Game

This one is just pure fun.

Kids get to mix beats, rhymes, and sounds to create their own little music tracks. The characters are playful, and the whole experience feels really light and creative.

My kids love experimenting with different combinations, and I’ve definitely heard some “performances” happening in the living room.

It’s one of those activities that builds confidence without them even realizing it. They’re creating something from scratch, and that’s always a win in my book.

Plus, it’s easy enough for younger kids to jump right in without needing help every five seconds.

A Simple Way to Cut Back on Screen Time

At the end of the day, I’m not trying to eliminate screens completely. That’s just not realistic for our family.

But I do want better options.

And finding screen-free toys for kids that actually work has made such a difference in our daily routine. These games keep my kids engaged, curious, and creative — all without a screen in front of them.
Starter Set
If you already have the Qubitunes Starter Set (or you’re thinking about it), these add-ons are such an easy way to keep things fresh and exciting. And if you haven’t seen my full review of the Starter Set yet, it’s definitely worth checking out first since everything builds from there.

For us, this has been one of those small changes that made a big impact. Fewer screen-time battles, more creative play, and honestly… a little more peace in the house.

If you’ve been looking for something like that too, I’d absolutely recommend giving these Screen-Free Toys a try.
