This fun and adorable Mini Basket Snowman Craft is another Dollar Store craft perfect for older kids and teens. They will have so much fun creating them. Once their baskets are done, let them fill each of the baskets with yummy sweet treats to create gifts for family and friends!

Supplies:

Jewelry box snowman

  • Jewelry Boxes, three pack – Dollar Store
  • Craft Stick, Regular – Dollar Store
  • Wooden Snowflake – Dollar Store
  • Buttons, Black – Dollar Store
  • Craft Paint – White, Black
  • Craft Felt – Red, Orange
  • Fabric, Plaid – Dollar Store
  • Natural Jute Twine – Dollar Store
  • Pom Poms – Dollar Store
  • Chenille Stem – Dollar Store
  • Glue Gun and Glue Sticks 
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Permanent Black Marker

Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft

Instructions:

  1. Gather all supplies. Basecoat the three cardboard jewelry boxes with white acrylic craft paint. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. jewelry box snowmen
  2. Place the craft stick at the top one-third of the tall jewelry box and draw a line with a pencil. Jewelry box snowmen
  3. Basecoat the craft stick and top one-third of the tall jewelry box with black acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  4. Once the paint is dry, attach the three box lids to the three box bases with a glue gun and glue sticks. Glue the black craft stick on the tall box as the hat brim. If using liquid craft glue, please allow additional time for drying. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  5. Using scissors, cut out a carrot shape from orange craft felt. Select six small black buttons and attach two to each snowman for the eyes. Attach the eyes and noses onto the snowmen with a glue gun and glue sticks. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  6. Measure a 5” by 9” rectangle from red craft felt, then cut out with scissors. This will become the large snowman’s hat. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  7. Attach the craft felt rectangle to the large snowman with the seam at the back, securing with a glue gun and glue sticks. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  8. Cut a 10” length of natural jute twine, tie at the top of the craft felt rectangle. Secure with a knot and trim any long ends. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  9. Measure and cut a 6” length of chenille stem, then attach to both sides of the small box with a glue gun and glue sticks. Glue a pom pom on top of the cut ends of the chenille stem to create earmuffs. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  10. Using a permanent black marker, draw on the coal mouths for each of the three snowmen. You can also use black paint and the end of a paintbrush. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  11. Glue the large and tall snowman boxes together, lining them up on the side. Attach the small snowman to the front of the other two snowmen with a glue gun and glue sticks. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  12. Snip and rip plaid fabric into two strips that are approximately 3” wide by 18” long. Cut into the fabric ½” with scissors, then tear the fabric into strips. This will produce a frayed edge. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  13. Glue the two short ends of the fabric strips together to create one 36” length of fabric, which will become the snowman’s scarf. Glue the back of the box trio. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  14. Tie the plaid fabric scarf around the trio of snowmen, securing it in the front with a glue gun and glue sticks. Trim any long ends of the scarf with scissors. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  15. Basecoat a small wooden snowflake with white acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft
  16. To finish, attach the wooden snowflake to the tall snowman’s hat with a glue gun and glue sticks. Jewelry Box Snowmen Craft

  • Jewelry Boxes, 3 pack – Dollar Store
  • Craft Stick, Regular – Dollar Store
  • Wooden Snowflake – Dollar Store
  • Buttons, Black – Dollar Store
  • Craft Paint – White, Black
  • Craft Felt – Red, Orange
  • Fabric, Plaid – Dollar Store
  • Natural Jute Twine – Dollar Store
  • Pom Poms – Dollar Store
  • Chenille Stem – Dollar Store

Instructions

STEP ONE

STEP TWO

Place the craft stick at the top one-third of the tall jewelry box and draw a line with a pencil.

Basecoat the craft stick and top one-third of the tall jewelry box with black acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

STEP FOUR

Once the paint is dry, attach the three box lids to the three box bases with a glue gun and glue sticks. Glue the black craft stick on the tall box as the hat brim. If using liquid craft glue, please allow additional time for drying.

STEP FIVE

Measure a 5” by 9” rectangle from red craft felt, then cut out with scissors. This will become the large snowman’s hat.

Glue the 2 short ends of the fabric strips together to create one 36” length of fabric, which will become the snowman's scarf. Glue to the back of the box trio.

STEP FOURTEEN

Tie the plaid fabric scarf around the trio of snowmen, securing in the front with a glue gun and glue sticks. Trim any long ends of the scarf with scissors.

STEP FIFTEEN

Basecoat a small wooden snowflake with white acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary.

STEP SIXTEEN

To finish, attach the wooden snowflake to the tall snowman’s hat with a glue gun and glue sticks.
