St. Patrick’s Day dessert board Directions:
To assemble: Select your offerings and display board- we used a slate board like this.
We suggest that super small items such as sprinkles, chocolate chips, etc. (if applicable) be displayed in a bowl to keep items organized and contained.
Begin with some of your larger items and place them around the board.
Follow up with some medium size items to fill more room. Adjust items as you go to create space and fill the board.
Finally, place the smaller items in any gaps and continue to adjust to accommodate the items. Add more items or take some away if needed.
Tips – Small items such as M&Ms are good to fill in awkward gaps and can help fill voids. Save those types of items for last.
Notes –
- Dessert boards are very forgiving. Use any combination of items or substitute with others that fit the green, gold and rainbow theme. We used store-bought bakery items, but homemade would work as well!
- The size of your display board will determine how many items and how much you’ll need to get. Any items that don’t fit on the board can be served next to it in nice display containers, etc.
- Do I have to use all green and white desserts? No, while the green and white theme is festive, feel free to incorporate other colors and treats you enjoy.
- What are some non-candy options? Include fresh fruit skewers, yogurt parfaits with green granola, or mini green smoothies for a healthier twist.
- Can I make this ahead of time? Yes! Prepare most elements in advance and assemble the board right before serving.
Storage: Any leftover items should be stored in an airtight container. If they are fresh baked goods, it’s best to store in the fridge for up to 2 days.
