Getting a Pet’s Portrait
First off, I have to say, that the level of customer service I received with my order was amazing. Each person who worked with my animal pictures was professional, extremely helpful, and didn’t stop making revisions until I was satisfied.
All I had to do was go online to their website, choose how many pets I wanted in the picture, (you can have up to three), and pick out what kind of picture I wanted. Did I want a cartoon picture, an oil painting, or a watercolor painting? For my portrait, I chose the cartoon image. Those big eyes make me smile every time!
There are several background options, picture finish options, and size and format options for your portrait. I chose a light blue background with stars. I even had the option to put the animal’s name on the portrait if I wanted.
The next thing I had to do was upload pictures of my pets. I have a beagle and a tuxedo cat. They do not get along and I will probably never see them sharing a pillow. However, that doesn’t matter in this instance. A Pet Portraits artist took the two separate pictures I uploaded and combined them.
After I uploaded pictures, I had to choose what format I wanted my portrait delivered. I decided on an 8″ x 10″ canvas and for just a little more, I was sent the image in digital form.
How Long Does it Take to Get My Portrait?
Once I chose my product, uploaded my pictures, chose my products, and paid. Then I received my first email. This email told me thanked me for my order and said I would be getting my first proof soon. It wasn’t even a day later and I had a proof in my inbox.
The first proof came in “portrait” orientation and because I wanted mine in a “landscape” orientation, I responded to the email that I didn’t want a lot of space above their heads. To me, it looked funny. So, the artist jumped to it and sent me another proof.
After tweaking it to what I wanted, the Pet Portrait’s artist sent the proof to production. Within a couple of days, the digital version was in my inbox and the canvas print was in my mailbox.
My Thoughts on Pet Portraits
This was the first time I’ve ever gotten my pet’s portrait made. They would never have stayed still long enough for me to click a photograph of them, so this is amazing! I really love my fur babies and am so excited to share this portrait of them with all my friends. I took the canvas to my office and put it on my desk. So many people have stopped to ask about it and to complement my very cute, big-eyed babies.
