Materials Needed for the Cutting Board Witch Craft:
- Craft Stick, Jumbo – Dollar Store
- Craft Stick, Regular – Dollar Store
- Unfinished Wooden Cutting Board – Dollar Store
- Spider Ring – Dollar Store
- Ribbon, Black Gingham – Dollar Store
- Chenille Stems, Orange – Dollar Store
- Acrylic Craft Paint – Muted Light Green, Black, Grey
- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks – Dollar Store
- Scissors
- Paintbrush
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Permanent Black Marker
Cutting Board Witch Craft Instructions:
STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. Place the jumbo craft stick toward the top of the cutting board and draw a line with a pencil. Measure and mark the jumbo craft stick to 4.5” long with a pencil. Trim the ends of the craft stick with scissors.
STEP TWO
Trim a jumbo craft stick into a pointed nose shape with scissors. Cut the end from a regular craft stick, and glue onto the nose as a wart. Paint the nose and wart with muted light green acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.
TIP: You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.
STEP THREE
Basecoat the bottom half of the cutting board with muted light green acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.
STEP FOUR
Basecoat the top half of the cutting board and the jumbo craft stick with black acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. Attach the craft stick hat brim to the to the witch with a glue gun and glue sticks.
STEP FIVE
To create the witch’s hair, cut two orange chenille stems in half with scissors. Twist the four pieces together in the middle and then bend the bundle in half. Repeat with two additional chenille stems.
STEP SIX
Attach two wiggle eyes and the nose to the witch with a glue gun and glue sticks. Glue the two bunches of chenille stem hair to the left and right sides of the witch’s hat brim.
STEP SEVEN
Draw on a crooked smile with a permanent black marker.
STEP EIGHT
Using scissors, remove the ring portion from a plastic jeweled spider ring.
Roughly paint the spider legs with grey acrylic craft paint, letting some of the black show through. Set aside to dry.
STEP NINE
Tie a bow with a black gingham ribbon. Fishtail the ends by cutting out triangular notches, which gives a finished look and prevents the ribbon from fraying.
STEP TEN
Attach the bow to the witch’s hat with a glue gun and glue sticks. To finish, glue the jeweled spider to the center of the bow.
