Felt Apple Pencil Topper Instructions:
Step 1:
Select red, green, white and brown colored felt fabrics for the felt apple pencil topper craft. The template includes patterns for 2 different designs. We’re starting with the sliced apple pencil topper (design 2). Prepare the template patterns by printing and cutting them out from the printed paper. (Print the template here.) Trace the patterns on the selected felt fabrics and use sharp scissors to cut out the traced patterns neatly.
Step 2:
Take the small apple cutout (cut out from white felt) and place seed cutouts near the center of the cutout. Prepare a needle with thread matching the seeds.
Step 3:
Simply stitch the seeds with the white cutout near the center, keeping the pointy ends of the seeds facing toward the center.
Step 4:
Take the white pattern and place it on any one of the apple base cutouts. Prepare the needle with white thread.
Step 5:
Stitch the white pattern with the apple base by stitching the white pattern around the border.
Step 6:
You can work with running stitches or blanket stitches; both stitches work out fine for this craft.
Step 7:
Take the other apple base cutout and place the leaf and stem cutout near the top-middle part of the base. Overlap the stem and leaf with the apple base slightly on the top.
Step 8:
Place the stitched apple pattern on top of the plain one, keeping the stem and leaf between both base layers. Prepare the needle with red thread.
Step 9:
Stitch around the sides to join the base patterns but keep a small open end at the bottom-middle part; to fit a pencil through it nicely. When you’re done stitching, tie two tight knots and cut off extra thread.
