Building blocks are so much fun and they don’t put a limit on imagination. If you can think it up, you can build it. Pix-Brix blocks are different than most. They are the blocks that allow you to build 2D or 3D, compatible with other block systems, and they are brightly colored for many different art projects.
Pix-Brix
Pix Brix are a multi-award winning pixel puzzle brick that utilizes a unique patented connection system. This simple 1 piece slide + stack system allows the user to create 2D pixel art and 3D builds by connecting vertically, horizontally, and even diagonally. Pix Brix are a certified STEM/STEAM open ended building toy that fosters play, creativity, and imagination.
Starry Night Pixel Puzzle
If you’re anything like me, I don’t possess the artistic gene that allows you to see all the different ranges of colors in something. I need instructions. If it was left to me to color a picture, I can do it, but there will be no color combining. All that being said, I love puzzles and Pix-Brix makes puzzle kits that let you be artistic without having to think too hard about colors.
Pix-Brix has a Van Gogh selection that is wonderful. There are several of his paintings turned into puzzles. There is even a 3D figurine that you can put together with the Brix. I love the Starry Night puzzle. It’s 2,408 pieces but it only took me a few days (after work) to put it together. The finished product is so pretty and will be hanging on my wall.
When I started this puzzle, I wasn’t sure about it because I’ve used other building blocks. But, I have to say, they are extremely sturdy blocks. They don’t fall apart and they can hold up to just about anything. However, they are not hard to put together or take apart. A young child, 7 or 8 years old may have difficulty at first, but they really are amazing brix.
Pix-Brix Dinosaur Series
Sometimes I wonder if I am normal. I love boy toys. When I was little, I wanted to play with my cousin’s GI Joes and Transformers. So, when God blessed me with a son of my own, I knew that I’d have fun playing with his toys. Pix-Brix has a Dinosaur Series and they are so awesome! They have four kits currently in the series, including the cute T-Rex.
I know, T-Rex is supposed to be scary, but this one is not. He’s so cute. The kit is 397 pieces and can be put together in a few hours with clear instructions. My friend let his son put it together. He’s eight years old and only had a little problem at first putting the brix together. It was lining up the grooves, but once he got a hang of it, it was easy. T-Rex turned out so good. My friend and his family love the little guy.
Bulk Brix
Pix-Brix sells brix in bulk. There is a wonderful reason why, too. They have a Photo Pixelator on the app and website. You can upload any picture and the app and website will turn that picture into a Brix project complete with colors and instructions. I’m so impressed with this feature, because, of course, I have no color-matching talent.
There is also a tool that can be used with these brix. The PB Tool can add and remove brix, the tip can be used to pick up and insert the brix together, and the tip also can push the brix out in spots to build in 2D.
If you’re looking for a fun, free-style project for you or your littles, take a look at Pix-Brix. They really are fun and so inventive!
