- Craft Sticks, Jumbo – Dollar Store
- Heart Doilies, Red, Pink, White – Dollar Store
- Glitter Foam Conversation Heart Stickers – Dollar Store
- Washable Marker, Black – Dollar Store
- Chenille Stems, White, Red, Pink – Dollar Store
- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks – Low Temp Works Best
- Acrylic Craft Paint – Red, Pink, White
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
Craft Stick Valentine Butterfly Instructions:
STEP ONE Gather all supplies. Basecoat the jumbo craft sticks with white, red, and pink acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. Use washable markers, crayons, or even colored pencils to color the jumbo craft sticks.
STEP TWO Paint decorative lines on each butterfly body with a contrasting color of acrylic craft paint. Mix and match the colors to create your own unique combinations. Set aside to let the paint dry.
STEP THREE Attach two wiggle eyes to the top of each butterfly’s body with a glue gun and glue sticks. Draw a smile on each butterfly’s face with a washable black marker.
STEP FOUR Cut each chenille stem in half with scissors. Bend the chenille stems in half to create a “V” shape. Roll the ends into a coil.
Flip the butterflies over and attach the antennae to the top with a glue gun and glue sticks. Mix and match the colors.
STEP FIVE Cut the bottom half off two red, white, and pink doilies with scissors. Flip the butterflies over and attach the doily wings to the right and left sides of the body with a glue gun and glue sticks.
STEP SIX Peel the liner paper from the conversation candy heart stickers and attach to the butterfly wings.
