Tradition is something that can be defined as past, present and future. Many families who celebrate Christmas each year keep traditions passed down but also create their own. Future traditions are created to pass down to the next generations to come.
Some of the traditions in my family are gifting a special decoration each year that we can display and decorate our homes with at Christmas time. I have an old nativity ceramic scene my grandmother gave me. I have a music box my mother gave me, and even special ornaments that adorn my tree. A new piece that has been added this year is a Wooden Christmas Pyramid by Erzgebirge.

What is a Christmas Pyramid?
Christmas pyramids hold a special place in German history. Christmas pyramids are handcrafted by artists and toymakers in the Erzgebirge region of Germany and are one of the most well-known wooden crafts. Classic Erzgebirge pyramids come in many different styles and shapes; some use tealight candles or stick or taper candles.
Erzgebirge pyramids display scenes and figurines of angels, wise men, carolers, Santa, nativity scenes, animals and forest themes, village life and more. The figurines are on a carousel that can be either one, two, three or more stories high and they rotate either by the heat of the candles surrounding the pyramid or electricity.
In the past, pyramids were hung from the ceiling to help light up a room, but now they are used as table decorations around the holidays.
Each Christmas Pyramid is handmade of fine wood. This pyramid is designed by Richard Glaesser Seiffen and stands 11″ tall. This piece represents Santa in a Church Scene in a German Natural Wood Christmas Pyramid. It rotates with a slight breeze from a ceiling fan or passerby, as well as the updraft from the burning tealights. It would be a wonderful centerpiece and talking point at your Christmas dinner table.
You can tell each piece is carefully hand-crafted and put together delicately and artistically, making it unique to each recipient. German Christmas Pyramids will make a great gift for someone this holiday season. Order today online through the Erzgebirge website or Amazon and get yours in time for Christmas.
