Fidget toys became popular a few years ago when a company came out with spinners and clickers that helped people with ADHD concentrate. Tangle Creations have been around for about 40 years and are the original Fidget Toys.
Tangle Creations
How much fun is it when you have a toy that does more than just entertain your child? I have always loved the idea that yes, they are playing a video game, but that game is teaching colors, numbers, and or hand-eye coordination.
Tangle Creations was founded on the concept of “Creativity for All.” The creator, Richard Zawitz loved that people would interact with his art. That lead him to develop 3 dimensional forms that anyone can relate to. This let to the creation of Tangle Creation Products.
Art, Therapy, or Toys?
Tangle Creations are these multi 90 degree curved sections, jointed together and able to pivot at each point. There is no beginning and no end.
Tangles want to continue to invent and develop products that stimulate creativity. People of all ages can move and manipulate them into what they want them to be. That makes it art, therapy and toys!
As a fidget tool, they help increase focus and concentration, provide fun mental occupation, and they can create movement for stimulating the brain stem.

Many Varieties
There are Tangle Jrs, Tangle Pets, Tangle Aquatic, Tangle Metallic Series, Tangle Hairy and so many more kinds. There are textured ones and smooth ones, fuzzy and hairy ones, metal ones and super colorful ones. It would be very hard to find something you don’t like. There is also Tangle Therapy and Tangle Relax Therapy.
Therapy Fidget Toys
As a fidget therapy tool, Tangle makes twistable devices that have an ergonomic approach to hand therapy, minor stress relief, building fine motor skills, and more. They have soft, textured bumps for a sensory experience. The motion is calming and fun.
Tangle Outdoors
Tangle also has an outdoor line of toys. The line is light up sports balls such as volley ball, soccer ball, football, basketball and more. Hockey, Light Up Ring Toss, glow balls and tic tac go games are also available. These toys are designed to get people out of the house and play in the dark. These neon colored sports toys light up so bright each time they are tapped. It’s so much fun to play with them.
My Thoughts
I was ignorant to the ADHD, ADD and OCD diagnosis’s. We hear it so much that this child has this and that man has that. I guess I was pretty numb to it all. Then my son started high school. He got hurt and ended up in a neurologist’s office, who during treatment, referred him to a neurophysiologist.
These huge words scared me and because my son has never been hyper, thought that testing him for ADHD was not needed. When I found out that my son had Tourette’s and as a side effect also has OCD and ADHD, I was floored. I wish I had these therapy aids for him when he was young. Both he and my daughter love Tangle Creations and even though they are grown, they actually help with their wondering minds and anxiety.
