When I was little, I loved to read storybooks. I can’t remember anyone ever reading to me, but I do remember loving the adventures and princesses. Books with pictures were my favorite. I also loved the reel-viewer toy that brought still-pictures of cartoons and stories to my fingertips. Moonlite has updated the reel-viewer and it brings a whole new reading experience to your children.
Moonlite
Recently I discovered Moonlite. Moonlite is a small projector that attaches to any smartphone and it has a picture reel that is inserted. On the phone a story opens and the pictures from the story is projected on a wall or ceiling to bring the book to life. This is a genius invention.
The inventor loves storyline with her daughter. But she figured there was a way to be more interactive with the story, so she invented the phone projector, designed new story reels and developed an app to keep everything organized.
The App
Moonlite’s app is very neat. You can add music to your stories, store all of your books, read stories from your phone while projecting pictures on a smooth surface and so much more. You can even shop for more books, right there! There are even books organized by age.
Moonlite Reels
The reels that fit into the moonlight projector are so beautiful. The pictures that are on them are bright, clear and goes along amazingly with the story you are reading. The reels remind me of the old projector we used to use – you know, the one you’d hold up to the light to see?
There is also a huge variety of books available for reading. Each package comes with 5 reels and a projector. The code to download the books to your app is also included in each pack. There is an option to buy just one reel and story if you want a certain story.
Once you have the activation code for your book (or package of books), you can put it in on the app and your book shows up.
The Projector
Moonlite’s mini projector attaches to any phone, using a clothespin like clip. The app actually shows you exactly where to attach the clip so that it lines up on the phone’s flash. There are little crosshairs so it’s completely fool-proof.
Adding the photo reel is simple. You can just snap it in, adjust the focus on the front of the projector and start showing the pictures on the wall or ceiling.
My Thoughts
I am the proud Mimi to a beautiful baby girl. She is so curious and bright-eyed. You can just see the wheels turning when she watches you or a baby program on television. I can’t wait until she gets old enough to enjoy this to it’s fullest. Right now she loves to look at the bright colors and watch you while you read the stories.
The imagination and ingenuity that went into Moonlite is amazing to me. I love the music that can be played while you read, the projector and reel pieces are genius and it’s definitely on the list as a good birthday present for any child.
