Candles are a way of making a house smell nice, they set an ambiance to your home and they have a calming effect. Many candles are made with paraffin wax and when they are burned they make and emit a harmful gas, toluene. Made from soy, Bare Candles are simple and clean. The Bare Candle story is a pretty great one. Ashlyn Rowland, a typical college student, was searching for a great burning candle and when she couldn’t find one, she decided to make her own. Fast forward and Ashland used her garage as her first factory. Through sales on Etsy, she discovered that there was a huge market for her candles. Now she has her own website, a team of gifted employees and a very bright future.
Bare Candles are free of prop 65 chemicals (chemicals known to cause birth defects), parabens (preservatives), paraffins (a highly refined mineral oil), and dyes. They are made from 100% Soy wax, premium fragrance oils and a 100% braided cotton wick. Each candle comes in a reusable amber jar, has tree-free labels and are vegan friendly.
Scents
Bare Candles have many scents that are either classic & fresh, earthy & herbal, or summer & floral. There are a few that I’d like to share with you:

From the scents I have, you can tell that I like clean, calming scents. My daughter likes sweet scents and my daughter-in-law prefers more earthy scents and my son likes lavender. The great thing about Bare Candles is that there is a scent for everyone.
Cotton and Spring Breeze
My favorite candle out of all of these is the Cotton and Spring Breeze. The smell of fresh laundry always makes me smile, like when the clothes are in the dryer with the best fabric softener making your home smell clean and fresh.
Lavender and Honey
It sounds like some exotic tea flavor, but the Lavender and Honey not only relaxes you, it has sweet notes along with the calming scent of lavender. My son really loves lavender because it does calm him and the scent isn’t overwhelming. He likes to have that scent around at bedtime for his new baby.
Citrus Scents
Candle scents like Citrus and Fig and Grapefruit and Mandarin make your home smell clean and fresh. These smells I always associate with a spring cleaning. They make you feel so good and energized.
Seaside and Storm
I know a lot of people who love the Earthy, awakening scent of a storm at sea. The salt of the ocean and the freshness of the rain always makes me want to pull out a book and blanket to settle in. My Thoughts
It never occurred to me that the candles I was buying was bad for my family until I found Bare Candles. With a new baby in my house, I have to be so careful to not cause her little immune system any harm.
