“Too often when it rains, most rain gutters just don’t work – NOT GOOD! Small outlets — hole in the gutter at the top of the downspout – are the problem. They clog easily and often. They also have a lip around their top that catches debris and starts the clogging. Even perfectly clean gutters don’t work when it rains because their outlets are clogged. As soon as debris gets into a gutter, that debris begins to flow to the outlet. Even a small amount of debris can clog present outlets. Once these small outlets are clogged water will never flow out of any gutter!
So, we decided to create outlets that work! The Goal: Create a very large outlet with no lip around its top. We designed our first Spout, a very large outlet that would be installed UNDER the gutter, eliminating the lip. This design enabled us to increase the outlet size by 400%, a very big deal. When water and debris reach the SpoutOff outlet, that water and debris has no place to go but DOWN.”
The SpoutOff Gutter Outlet Kits
Each SpoutOff Gutter Outlet Kit is designed for both 5” K-Style Gutters & 6” K-Style Gutters. The kit will come with 1 Spout, 1 Off, 1 SpoutSecure, bottom base, installation template and instructions. If you have the older, smaller gutter system (only 4 inches), it is recommended that you replace the downspouts. Or, you can order a reducing part that will allow the kit to still work.
Reduce Home Gutter Maintenance
Installation is simple, but I wouldn’t say necessarily easy. There are several steps involved but there are videos showing each step that were super helpful. While installing the SpoutOff, we determined our gutter system had both small and large downspouts. I guess that is something to expect with a house built in the late seventies. Our plan is to replace the smaller downspouts with larger ones this summer so we won’t have to worry about the gutters backing up again.
