The Joggle Factory DIY Joggling Board is a perfect gift for the handyman in your life. Whether he loves wood working or house projects, this one will be sure to hit all of those bases! This traditional-style juggling board has narrow design which makes it easy (and fun!)to use outdoors spaces that may otherwise not allow you room with other furniture items like rocking chairs . It’s less than two feet wide so users can enjoy swaying without getting too far away from an area where someone might bump into them while passing by on another part outside – great if there’s limited outdoor living space available.
About The Joggle Factory
In 2010, The Joggle Factory was founded with the mission of making our beloved joggling boards accessible, affordable, and maybe even for The Joggle Factory to become a household name across the nation. Over the years, The Joggle Factory has grown from a small shop in the couple’s backyard in Charleston, S.C., to the company’s first production shop in Summerville, S.C., and now to its current shop on Edisto Island, S.C.
After Chris ‘popped the question’ in 2008, he knew the only gift for his girl would be a joggling board, where they could sit outdoors and enjoy each other’s company on the porch of their first home. Although Chris is a perpetual procrastinator, he did start looking for a joggling board well before their wedding date and kept hitting dead ends. Rather than find a more attainable gift, he decided to put his woodworking skills to good use by designing and building his bride a joggling board.
This Joggling Board is a unique and perfect gift for the handyman in your life. These kits are easy to assemble, so don’t worry about having no experience with this kind of thing! Make sure you measure the size of porch or area before ordering because it will depend on whether they need one that’s 6-12 ft long (for smaller spaces) versus 14 – 16′. This DIY kit can also be great if there are friends/family members who would love their own personalized rocker bench but aren’t quite ready yet–it makes an awesome present. Everything is included to build the rockers, even the paint and glue! You will need to purchase the long board (2×12) in the desired length. This is a cool weekend project for the family.

Made from durable materials that don’t contain any harsh chemicals or lead – which are both common in today’s products. This heirloom will last through many years of use by your growing child.
Joggling Boards Reduce Anxiety
2020 brought us great joy to meet Joseph. He opened our eyes to the joy our beloved joggling boards can bring to children everywhere! One afternoon he was scheduled for an appointment with his therapist. You see, Joseph is on the Autism spectrum, and was experiencing a great deal of anxiety before his appointment. With the collaboration of his Mama and therapist, they sat him on the children’s joggling board, and you could see the anxiety wash right out of his young body.
Having grown up in the south, I am familiar with the porch benches that sway back and forth. Strangely though, I never knew the official name for them was a Joggle Bench. It makes sense, and I am glad that I now have one for our home. Everyone that comes in wants to sit on it. And of course the little ones all want to play on it. Ms. Allie thinks it should be ridden like a horse and just giggles as she rocks back and forth.
Joggle Benches have a deep history in the Southern States.
If you have ever spent time in the South, you have probably noticed the long benches that sit on the porches. These unique pieces of furniture are called joggling boards. Surprisingly, they are not just beautiful Southern Décor, they actually have a purpose.
What is a Joggling Board?
The meaning of the word joggle is to shake or sway slightly. So a joggle board, is a bench that rocks gently as the plank is used. The long bench is crafted from a piece of Southern pine which is known for being sturdy yet flexible.
What is the history of the Joggling Board?
According to the legend, the joggling board dates back to 1804. Widow Mary Kinloch Huger went to live with her brother in South Carolina. Ms. Huger suffered from rheumatism which made her joints stiff and sore. (I understand this complaint as I am also a sufferer.) When her family learned of her condition, they sent a set of plans for a joggling board to be made for her. The gentle sway and rocking was able to provide her with pain free exercise and comfort for her stiff joints.
As a company, The Joggle Factory is committed to making joggling boards accessible and affordable for everyone. They also have a strong dedication to giving back to the community. In addition to pledging 3% of sales from their children’s joggling board to the Lowcountry Autism Foundation, they are also donating $5 from each collaboration T-shirt sold. This makes The Joggle Factory not only a great place to buy a unique gift for someone, but also a company with a heart!
