Patriotic OREO Instructions
Melt the Candy wafers or Almond Bark in a Glass measuring cup. Scroll down to the Recipe card for detailed instructions.
Once you can stir the chocolate you will probably need to add a little bit of coconut oil.
Once your chocolate is fluid (runs smoothly off the spoon) you are ready.
Fill the cavity of the mold 2/3 way full.
Press the Oreos into the chocolate.
Add a little more melted chocolate if it isn’t covered.
Place in the freezer for 10 min.
Pop the Oreos out once the chocolate has set.
Melt the red and blue candy melts in their respective bags.
Cut a small tip off the bottom of the pastry bag.
Create designs on the top of the Oreos and add sprinkles immediately.
Notes
Using almond bark, vanilla candy coating or melting wafers will yield a shiner presentation than just using white chocolate chips. Almond bark is not made from almonds. Depending on where you are in the world, the vanilla candy coating is called different things.
While you can melt the candy coating in a microwavable bowl, melting it in a glass measuring cup will hold the heat and consistency longer.
If your coating doesn’t flow off your spoon, add ½ tsp of vegetable oil or melted coconut oil to thin it out until it flows off the spoon.
