Do games have to be all about competition and winning? I don’t think so at least. There’s nothing wrong with fostering healthy competition of course! But what if having fun and playing games was also educational? Adventerra Games has taken on that challenge and created games for kids that teach them about respecting the planet, animals, and each other. They offer games and puzzles for all ages as well. Let me tell you how we are having fun and learning with Adventerra Games.
About Adventerra Games
We are a Swiss company made up of people who share a passion for games and a love for nature. Our games are for children of all ages (and for adults who love to play, even if sometimes they are ashamed to admit it!).
Raising Awareness Through Play
We believe that making children aware of environmental themes can help them grow into better adults who are respectful of other people, animals, and the planet on which we all live.
Some of our Favorite Fun and Learning with Adventerra Games
Ecologic Puzzle: Respect the Earth
With Ecologic Puzzle: Respect the Earth, children learn how to protect the planet through everyday actions. The self-correcting joints and diverse characters on the pieces make it easy to match pairs and learn about better habits for preserving our environment. Ages 2 and up.
Ecologic Puzzle: Saving Water
These adorable Saving Water puzzles are a fun and educational way for your little one to learn about the importance of conserving water. Featuring colorful sea creatures, these puzzles show how easy it is to save water in everyday life. With self-correcting joints and colored edges, these puzzles are perfect for matching and puzzling fun! Ages 2 and up.
Polar Adventure: Disappearing Ice
What a fun way to learn about climate change! With Polar Adventure: Disappearing Ice, you can help save the polar animals while playing a game with your family. Each player builds the polar environment and then takes turns moving their animal forward, trying to be the first one to reach the safety of the big iceberg. It’s a great way to learn about how climate change endangers these animals’ lives – and have some family fun too! Ages 4 and up.
Hungry Bins: Learn to Recycle
Hungry Bins is the perfect game for introducing your little ones to recycling and composting! They’ll learn about different types of materials and how to recognize their respective collection bins. Plus, the matching process is made easier with each token featuring the color of the corresponding bin. Hungry Bins is a fun and educational way to teach your kids about being responsible global citizens! Ages 3 and up.
Ecologic Memory: Animals at Risk
Playtime with your little one has never been so educational! In Ecologic Memory: Animals at Risk, you’ll help your child learn about the dangers faced by endangered animals and what they can do to help. With beautiful illustrations and an easy-to-learn game board, this memory game is perfect for animal lovers of all ages. Ages 2 and up.
PowerHaus
Your family can save money and fight climate change with PowerHaus, the game that teaches kids how to make their homes more energy-efficient. With every decision you make, you’ll gain or lose money – so choose wisely! Tackle real-life challenges in an interactive environment. Cutting down on your energy consumption has never been so much fun! Ages 7 and up, 3-4 players, 40-60 minutes.
Recycle Rally
Recycle Rally is a game that encourages responsible recycling. With the fate of the town hanging in the balance, it’s important to make sure you recycle as much valuable material as possible. Be careful though, if you leave too much recyclable material behind, things will get incinerated and the whole town will be in trouble! Ages 7 and up, 3-5 players, 30-60 minutes.
My Thoughts on Fun and Learning
As a mom, I love to see my kids having fun together. Either with their siblings, cousins, or friends. Sometimes the ages cover a wide range, but I’m always trying to find ways or games that they can play at the same time. Even if the older children team up with a younger partner to play. And while competition and learning how to win gracefully are wonderful lessons, I also would love them to learn about the world around them, too. This is where fun and learning with Adventerra Games has become my secret weapon.
The games from Adventerra Games teach kids about respecting the planet, animals, and each other. They can have fun while learning with puzzles, board games, and more. The games help kids learn about environmental themes, saving money and fighting climate change, recycling, composting, and endangered animals.
Ages 2 and up
For the youngest players, I highly recommend puzzle and memory games. For example, the Ecologic Puzzle: Saving Water and the Ecologic Puzzle: Respect the Earth, are great ways for little fingers and minds to have fun while learning about the environment. By matching puzzle pieces in pairs, they see examples of how to waste water and how to conserve it, and typical bad habits like littering and how to recycle instead. The pieces are made to fit together easily, and either has a red or green edge to show if it’s a wasteful habit or a good practice!
Ages 4 and up
If you have a mixed group or older children that want to play, consider games that are a little more involved. For example, the Ecologic Memory: Animals at Risk is a fun and easy matching game of matching endangered animals with their babies while learning about their habitats. Another suggestion is the Hungry Bins: Learn to Recycle. Match the recyclable item tokens with their color coordinating bin to learn about sorting, recycling, and even composting. Finally, there is Polar Adventure: Disappearing Ice where each player tries to lead polar animals to the giant iceberg of safety, while also learning about climate change and its impact.
Ages 6 and up
What if you have older children or even a family game night? Don’t worry, Adventerra Games has you covered! My first recommendation would be Recycle Rally, which is a game where you drive a recycle truck around town. Pick up the valuable items and sort them quickly, without leaving too many behind that end up as trash. Also, there is PowerHaus where players learn how to make changes to conserve electricity while also saving money.
No matter if you have young kids, older kids, or want games for the entire family to play together, there is a puzzle or game perfectly suited for you. Not only will they have fun, but also learn about respecting the world around them, animals, and even how to save money.
