Root Beer floats have always been a favorite treat for me. There is something nostalgic about the delicious flavor that reminds me of childhood and hot summer days.

Chocolate Root Beer Float Cupcakes
Makes 24 cupcakes
Ingredients needed:
Dark chocolate fudge cake mix
12 oz can root beer soda
Chocolate frosting
Cupcake pan
24 brown paper cupcake liners
24 root beer barrel candies
Brown and white paper straws
1M Wilton frosting tip
How to make these yummy Chocolate Root Beer Float Cupcakes:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Line cupcake pan with paper cupcake liners.
3. Add cake mix and soda to a large bowl or bowl of a stand mixer, and beat on medium for 2 minutes.
4. Fill cupcake liners halfway with cake batter.
5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until you can insert a toothpick, and it comes out clean.
6. Cool for 1 hour on a baking rack.
7. Snip of the corner of a ziplock bag or the end of a piping bag and insert the frosting tip.
8. Fill a ziplock bag or piping bag with frosting.
9. Pipe frosting onto cupcake by starting in the middle, swirling around the cupcake, then meeting back in the middle.
10. Top each cupcake with a root beer barrel candy.
11. Cut straws in half, then in half again (each straw will give you 4 mini straws), and insert a mini straw into each cupcake.
