Keeping your house clean can be difficult to say the least, but it doesn’t need to be. In fact, it’s more than possible for you to make a few simple changes and when you do, you will soon find that it is super easy for you to stay on top of everything.
Make the Bed
Some people think that making the bed is a complete waste of time, but at the end of the day, it does make a huge difference to your home. It starts the day off well and it only takes a few minutes. On top of this, nothing quite compares to climbing into a well-made bed.
If you want to make things easier on yourself then it may be worth just having a sheet, duvet and duvet cover. If you have tons of blankets or cushions then this will make it harder for you to keep things clean and it will add to the amount of effort you need to make in order to get your bedroom straight in the morning.
Do One Laundry Load per Day
Depending on how many loads you do a week, you may not need to do your washing every day. That being said, doing your laundry more often is a good habit to get into.
You need to put your washer on delay if you can, so you don’t have to worry about turning it on in the morning. It will turn itself on automatically and this will make it much easier for you to keep your home tidy in general.
Clean Enough is Good Enough
If you are a perfectionist then this will probably be very difficult for you. At the end of the day, you want your house to be clean and tidy if possible but that doesn’t mean that everything needs to be perfect. If 80% of the cleaning has been done, then getting the last 20% done will probably take you way longer than you think.
After all, you may feel the need to ensure that all of the little specs are gone off the floor and that you also need to try and wipe down behind sofas. You don’t have to do this. You need to learn how to be happy with the house being at 80% if possible. If you want to make your home easier to clean then solid wood flooring is certainly worth the investment.
Prioritize
Not all cleaning jobs are equal. It’s important that you make a list of what you want to get done so that you can prioritize whatever needs to be done. You need to find out which jobs are going to make the biggest difference to your home and then prioritize them over the next few days. If you can do this, then there’s no reason at all why you shouldn’t end up being able to manage everything properly.
Get Everyone Involved
It’s way easier for you to get the job done yourself, but at the end of the day, it’s also important that you teach your kids how to do those jobs as well. You should never be alone in your cleaning ventures, so keep this in mind if possible.
