My Thoughts
As our children have grown, our family has been a mix of public, private, and homeschooling. Now that the world has changed so much, all of us are settling into the distance learning mode. And while it would be nice to think that everything will be back to the old normal soon…what happens if it doesn’t? For us this means we are distance learning of course, but we are also using the time to learn other skills. Our crew are schooling together as much as possible so they can divide up the little ones into groups.
The best thing we as parents can do to help our children is to be as informed as possible. Understanding the best way to instruct the material that needs to be covered takes a lot of the stress off the parent.
This guide covers the entire gamete of areas. It jumps right in with the basics that every parent needs to know. Things like Zoom Etiquette, setting up a learning center, and how to communicate with teachers.
Distance Learning Playbook for Parents
I felt this Distance Learning Playbook for Parents is something that should be sent to every parent with children in the school system. Public, Private, or Homeschooling – the information contained within the pages is priceless. Even after homeschooling for almost 40 yeas, I found the suggestions and recommendations right on point.
Help for a Struggling Parent
This book is really a game changer for any parent, but especially for those that may be struggling with teaching their children at home.
It is stressed throughout the book, and I couldn’t agree more with the following statement:
We do not need to become teachers. We just need to partner with the teachers and facilitate the learning for our children in this new and often scary time.
