Tips for Green Cleaning in the Bathroom

September 21, 2020 by Pam Maynard

Its never easy to tackle a dirty bathroom but it has to be done. And it’s the most frequently used place in the whole house it needs to be clean.

Since our skin comes in contact with all of the utensils it is necessary to keep it clean. As the chemicals used in the anti-bacterial and chemical products can spread into our system. Hence why we have some tips and tricks to keep your bathroom green clean with homemade products. Our company NW Maids Cleaning Service listed below some tips that can be used to green clean your bathroom.

Tips for green cleaning in the bathroom

Tips and tricks to keep your bathroom green clean:

  • How to clean the toilet:

Instead of using the toxic bleach on the toilet why not use a homemade solution that will clean the toilet equally nicely. Add half a cup of baking soda and a spoon full of vinegar and mix it well. Pour the mixture in the toilet and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then scrub with a brush and flush.

  • Soap Scum Removal:

Soap scum can be removed from the shower and tub easily by using a paste of baking soda mixed with dish soap. This is an all-purpose cleaner and will clean grout and harsh stains of water easily. The same can be used for sink and tub. Let the paste sit on the surface first then use a brush to remove it easily.  Be sure to rinse the tub and shower completely so it’s not slippery for the next person needing a shower.

  • Vinegar Spray:

Vinegar helps break down the particles and helps clean it easily. For a quick shower clean up spray the vinegar on the glass and the walls and let it sit. Then spray again and wipe clean. Wipe with paper towels or newspaper.

  • Drain cleaning:

Its easy to clean the drain with baking soda and vinegar. After removing any hair residue or gunk, pour three fourth of a cup of baking soda and then pour vinegar half cup on top of it. Let it sit for 30 minutes and drain with boiling water.
