Coffee filters, wooden clothespins and glitter glue from the Dollar Store transform into a busy Bee for tons of fun! Make this Dollar Store Coffee Filter and Clothespin Bee Craft with your kids today!

Easy Bee Craft- Another Great Dollar Store Creation!

Create this Dollar Store Coffee Filter and Clothespin Bee Craft in just about 20 minutes with help from the kiddos!  Super cute to clip to a banner or hang in a window for Summer or any season!  Sneak in some educational entertainment by looking up Bees on the internet and sharing fun facts.

Supplies:

  • Coffee Filters – Dollar Store
  • Glitter Glue, Iridescent – Dollar Store
  • Wooden Clothespins – Dollar Store
  • Wiggle Eyes – Dollar Store
  • Chenille Stem, Black – Dollar Store
  • Glue Sticks – Dollar Store
  • Gallon Size Zipper Bag OR Metal Baking Sheet Pan – Dollar Store
  • Craft Paint – Black and Bright Yellow
  • Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
  • Scrap of Cardboard

Easy Bee Craft- Another Great Dollar Store Creation!

Instructions:

STEP ONE

Easy Bee Craft- Another Great Dollar Store Creation!

Flatten a round coffee filter on a gallon size zipper bag or metal baking sheet pan.  Apply iridescent glitter glue in a swirl pattern over the entire coffee filter. Set aside to dry.  CHANGE IT UP:  Have the kiddos create their own patterns with shapes of their choice!

STEP TWO

Clip wooden clothespin to a scrap of cardboard and use as a handle.  Paint all surfaces of clothespin with bright yellow craft paint.

Once dry, paint the top one-third (head) and stripes along the length (body) of the clothespin with black craft paint.  Set aside to dry.

STEP THREE

Once dry, gather glittered coffee filter in the center by pinching between your fingers and thumb.  Fan out the filter on their side to create wings.

STEP FOUR

Adhere two wiggle eyes to the head of the Bee with the glue gun and glue sticks.  Cut a black chenille stem in half with scissors, bend in the center and then curl both ends to create antenna.  Attach to the top of the Bee with glue.

CHANGE IT UP:  If crafting with younger kids, use liquid craft glue instead of a low temp glue gun.
