I love that my kids enjoy their own music and kid-friendly shows. That doesn’t mean I want to listen to them, though! The princess especially doesn’t like the ear bud style of headphones but normal ones can be too loud for her sensitive hearing. So I was definitely intrigued to try the myFirst Wireless Headphones that transmit sound through the cheekbones, instead of directly in the ear. They are also wireless and Bluetooth enabled to connect directly to her device or even my phone if needs be. Let me share with you our experience with the myFirst Wireless Headphones.
About myFirst

We recognize the need for kids to engage with technological advancements which helps in their cognitive learning ability. myFirst aims to enrich a child’s learning process by molding experiences through fun and innovative products.
myFirst is a brand new collection by Oaxis for kids and teens. Focusing to bridge the void of electronic devices that provide parents with Assurance, Safety and Engaging Fun for their child.
myFirst Wireless Headphones
Open ear wireless headphones that transmit sound directly through the child’s cheekbones. By leaving the ears open, they can still hear and be aware of the environment around them. There are several colors to choose from, and they connect to your device via Bluetooth technology. Each set also has a built in microphone and is water resistant as well.
My Thoughts
When it comes to screen or device time, I am careful what my kids watch or listen to. And when we’re at home, I don’t mind them just using the device’s speakers to play whatever has their attention. But when we are traveling, or at least away from home, headphones are practically needed. But wires are easy to get tangled, and if they need batteries, I never have them when they die while we’re away from home. Plus normal headphones meant for adults can be too loud for their little ears. Enter the myFirst Wireless Headphones.
These headphones don’t actually cover the ears. They rest on the cheekbones instead, to transmit the sound, using bone conduction technology. This leaves the kid’s ears open so then can still listen and pay attention to what’s going on around them. And because these are specifically designed for kids, they don’t go as loud as regular headphones.
Wireless and Bluetooth Enabled
The myFirst Wireless Headphones use Bluetooth technology to connect to tablets, music players, and even cell phones. And because there are no wires, I don’t have to worry about tangles and knots in them. It does charge via a USB cord and a 2 hour charge gives them about a 5 hour use time. They can be charged right up wherever we are, too! I also appreciate the fact they are lightweight and water resistant especially since we’re running around most days.
They are also available in two color schemes so if you buy multiple sets, it’s easy to tell them apart. myFirst also says they are unbreakable, and so far, they are still in great shape even with all the use they are getting. It does take a little getting used to, since habit says to try to put them on your ears. But after a few uses, it doesn’t seem to really be a problem anymore. There are also built-in touch sensors to allow little fingers to play, skip, or even mute music and sounds playing through the headphones.
A microphone is also built in to them, in case they use them to make phone calls or video calls like my little ones like to do with their grandparents.
What a Great Gift Idea
I think the myFirst Wireless Headphones would make a great gift for any child! It helps keep the volume lower on their sensitive ears, doesn’t have messy wires, and connects over Bluetooth which most devices have available these days. And since they are light weight, they won’t cause head or neck pain while the kids rock out in the backseat on vacation.
