When Depression Strikes, There’s No Need To Feel Alone

June 30, 2020 by Pam Maynard

Chronic physical and mental illness affects millions of people worldwide and sometimes we forget to speak up about how we really feel. It is a fact that anxiety and depression affect 300 million people worldwide. It can create overwhelming feelings of segregation from society and isolation and lead to solitary confinement. There are, however, ways of pulling yourself up out of that sinking feeling and giving yourself a chance to learn to live again.

Never suffer in silence; seek guidance and advice and if your mental health is suffering dramatically or you have any type of suicidal thoughts, then it’s vital to look at talking to the Samaritans to help. So, how exactly can you make a quick fix? Well, there’s no such thing, but there are quick things to do to assist you in the moment with your problems.

When Depression Strikes, There's No Need To Feel Alone

Join Groups And Classes

If you’re able to join some groups in the local community, then do so! You will be able to help cure those feelings of loneliness when you are unable to work or socialize and getting out and about will make you feel much better. You could look at evening classes, such as poetry, art, music therapy and many choices that help bring vulnerable people together. It is time to start getting in touch with reality and even joining online groups can also be a beneficial solution if your physical health is struggling.

On Facebook, you’ll find groups for people with chronic illnesses who share their stories and advice as well as being able to find friends with people who are going through the same problems and it can be a therapeutic experience for all parties. They will help you understand when to see a psychiatrist.

Herbal Remedies

Some herbal remedies are renowned for working well for anxiety. Aside from the regular lavender and chamomile, there is also CBD. CBD is a solution for many things and can really assist. With every day optimal cbd, you can look at taking a gummy to chew on which will release some CBD into your blood and it can greatly help with the feelings of panic and worry.

Also, for your diet you should look at lemons, turmeric, pumpkin seeds and chili peppers!  Omega 3 and fatty acids also have a good mental benefit for people suffering from depression, as well as helping your joints and muscles.

Aromas!

Aromatherapy has been around for ages and some of these incredible smells have the ability to stimulate our minds. Oil burners and humidifiers are becoming increasingly popular; because they look good and also help to heal our bodies. Without sleep, our cells are unable to regenerate and heal, meaning it takes us twice as long to heal and feeling exhausted constantly. It’s vital to get sleep for your immune system and get rid of those unwanted side effects of chronic health issues.

For your oil burners, scents such as sandalwood, eucalyptus, yarrow, frankincense and lavender are great choices!

Chronic illness doesn’t have to be a life sentence, so start living again today!
