Supplies needed for the Puzzle Piece Star Wreath:
- Puzzle, 100 Piece – Dollar Store
- Craft Paint – Blue
- Twine – Red
- Cardstock – White, 1” by 7” Rectangle, Scraps of Red and Blue
- Letter Stickers – USA
- Rhinestones – Two, Clear (or other embellishment like glitter glue)
- Chipboard (think recycled cereal or cracker boxes)
- Newspaper or Freezer Paper (to protect work surface)
- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Circle Punches or Template – 1” Wide and 1 ½” Wide.
- Scissors
- Craft Knife and Self-Healing Mat
- Ruler
- Paintbrush
- Pencil
- STAR WREATH PATTERN
Directions to make the Puzzle Piece Star Wreath:
STEP ONE
Gather all supplies. Basecoat puzzle pieces with blue craft paint. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. Freezer paper makes a great, inexpensive cover for your work surface.
STEP TWO
Download, print and cut the star wreath pattern HERE.
Trace onto chipboard, cut the outside with scissors and the inside with craft knife on a self-healing mat.
STEP THREE
Randomly attach puzzle pieces to star wreath base with the glue gun and glue sticks.
STEP FOUR
Apply a second layer of puzzle pieces over top of the first layer. Mix and match the shapes to create an organic pattern.
STEP FIVE
Measure and cut a rectangle of white cardstock one-inch wide and seven-inches wide, and then fishtail the ends with scissors.
Punch or cut two 1 ½” circles from red cardstock and two 1” circles from blue cardstock.
Layer the circles and then the letter stickers onto the banner. Attach the banner to the star wreath with the glue gun and glue sticks.
STEP SIX
To finish, accent the banner with rhinestones. Measure and cut a twelve-inch length of red twine and glue to the back of the wreath to use as a hanger.
