Do you know the saying that if your windshield wipers are on, then your headlights should be too? I have another tip for you: If you need to wear sunscreen, you need to wear sunglasses! And this is true not just for adults but especially for children! How many times do you break out your cool sunglasses but don’t have a pair for the kids? Mine are always wanting to wear theirs as soon as Dad or older brother or sister slip theirs on. So learn how to protect their eyes with Babiators Sunglasses.
About Babiators
Longtime friends Molly and Ted Fienning and Carolyn and Matthew Guard met in college over 10 years ago. After graduation, they vacationed together and dreamed about starting their own businesses. Carolyn, Matthew and Molly joined the corporate world, and Ted became a Marine Corps fighter pilot. The idea for Babiators was born on a military base in Beaufort, SC, when Molly saw her fellow military wives’ kids squinting in the sun while their pilot Moms and Dads stood protected and stylish in their aviator sunglasses. Molly shared her idea for safe, stylish, and durable kids’ sunglasses with her aviator husband Ted, who said, “Let’s make them, and call them Babiators!”
Matthew and Carolyn Guard had been on the lookout for a great business to fly with. They loved the idea of creating high-quality, affordable, safe, durable and stylish products that let kids be kids and be protected. Carolyn recognized the strong potential of the business and took off with the idea at mach speed.
The company launched in 2011 with Carolyn and Molly working from their kitchen tables. Today, the Babiators “Crew” is growing fast and quickly becoming a leading children’s retail brand. Forbes Magazine recently named Babiators one of America’s 100 Most Promising Companies of 2014! From their world headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, their safe, stylish and awesome products fly off to more than 30 countries, giving kids around the world the freedom and protection to tackle whatever adventures come their way.

My Thoughts
Most parents are pretty careful when it comes to remembering to use sunscreen. And I’m sure we all know the struggle to keep a hat on most of our kids, especially when they are little! But I know I didn’t usually think about putting them in sunglasses, even though I have mine on. Even if I’m just out driving as we run errands, or going to the zoo, and even sitting at the park; if the sun is out, I normally have my shades on. That way my eyes don’t hurt from squinting and trying to block out the brightest parts of the sunlight. Not to mention protecting my eyes from UV rays and their damaging effects.
But I usually didn’t think to put a pair on my children, until Babiators reminded me with their statement that if it’s time for sunscreen, it’s time for sunglasses. And I’ll admit it makes perfect sense. If the sun is a concern for their skin, then it’s a concern for their eyes, too! So now we make sure to protect their eyes with Babiators Sunglasses.
My kids love options
Yes, a plain “boring” pair of sunglasses may help them from squinting and straining their eyes, but not all sunglasses are created equal. It’s not just about blocking the light itself, but also filtering out the UVA and UVB rays too! That’s one of the reasons we really enjoy all the options with Babiators. First, they offer a fun set of two tone aviator style sunglasses for the kids. These are available in a number of color and lens combinations. Plus, each pair is made of this durable and flexible material so they will stand up to the inevitable dropping or pulling they will be tested with. And the polarized lenses will block the harmful UVA and UVB rays just like adult sunglasses should do!
We got three different pairs to try for our little ones. I’m sure you’ll see a trend really quick (think color choice)!
The three styles we ordered were The Weekender, the Popstar Pink Aviators, and the Heartbreakers
Each one is some shade of pink! The Heartbreakers are this awesome set of frames that are heart shaped with the dark lenses set inside. These are perfect for the “diva”. They quickly became a hit, and we definitely get asked about them when she shows them off. And since we got them as part of the gift set package, we got the silicon strap to help keep them from being dropped and lost. They also come with a soft carrying case with a clip to hold them when they aren’t being worn. We also have a lovely girl wearing the Popstar Pink Aviator style too. These remind me of their dad’s aviators actually, which is maybe why the kids love them too. They have the same type of design of the classic aviators but made to fit their small faces perfectly. The frames are made of that same flexible material to stand up to constant use and little fingers who constantly touch and move them.
These too were part of a gift set, so the carrying strap and the storage case are great accessories.
The last pair we added to the mix is the Weekender. Instead of the dark pink colors of the other two adorable sunglasses, these are more of a “melon” color. Not quite peach but a warmer shade of pink at least. And these have silver lenses which is different than the dark/black of the other pairs. These came with a felt storage case to keep them from being scratched up between uses.
Sunglasses for all ages!
Now, we ordered the gorgeous and fun pink sunglasses I told you about, but they offer many of their products in a variety of colors! Some even have multiple colors on the same pair, so boy or girl, they will have something perfect to fit their style. And each pair has that protection built into the lenses to help keep their little eyes safe from the sun. Chances are if you have your sunglasses on or you’re breaking out the sunscreen for the family, the kids should have their shades on too! Don’t forget to protect their eyes with Babiators Sunglasses.
