About Chalk of the Town
Wendy and sister Sondra have always been crafty, so when they noticed chalkboard surfaces trending in interior design they thought “imagine if we could put a chalkboard on a shirt to create a new shirt every day”! The sisters were determined to create a chalkboard-like surface that could accept chalk markers, not only smudgy traditional limestone chalk. As mothers themselves, Sondra and Wendy also felt the shirts had to be durable, machine washable and re-useable.
After much research and a bit of product testing help from their school-aged children, voila! Chalk of the Town t-shirts were born.

I’M READING Chalkboard Tote Kit

Caring for Your Designs
In between washing: Dampen the erasing cloth with water to remove the chalk paint from your chalkboard patch.
On wash day: Remove the design as above before washing on cold water setting. If machine drying, use a low heat setting. Do not iron over the chalkboard patch. Doing so could damage the patch.
Create Your Own Special Designs
Who doesn’t like having a personalized shirt or bag? However, finding one that says just what you want usually proves too frustrating for me. Even finding our names spelled correctly on something never happens! But, with the Chalk of the Town chalkboard patches, we can decorate our things any way we want.
Of course, the shirts and totes are super cute. And, our crew has loved creating their own designs using the templates or by simply drawing. Our youngest has been wearing her shirt with the letter of the week on Letter Day at preschool. For a four-year-old…this is super exciting because none of the other kids in school have a shirt with the letter of the week on it.

Chalkboard designs are all the rage right now, but being able to change the label or design by simply erasing it with a damp cloth encourages me to be more creative than I would be with permanent markers or paint. I like that the patches can be applied to just about any surface too.
