4 Vacation Organization Techniques for Savvy Families

January 15, 2020 by Pam Maynard

You don’t have to lose your sense of organization just because you’re on vacation. Staying organized while you’re on vacation can help to ensure that you enjoy the time away. Here are some tips when it comes to maintaining your level of organization and not misplacing your things.

4 Vacation Organization Techniques for Savvy Families

Create a List

A list is critical if you want to ensure that you aren’t forgetting something important for your vacation. Sit down with the whole family and decide the types of activities that you want to do on your trip. This strategy will help to streamline the amount of items and the amount of time that it will take to pack. There are travel checklists that you can utilize that will walk you through all the ins and outs that you’ll need to know during the traveling process.

Label It

Nothing’s worse than trying to collect your luggage at the airport and not knowing which one is yours. Getting a laser engraved luggage tag for all of your bags will eliminate the guesswork when it comes time to collect it. Another good thing about this solution is that your luggage tag will be able to last for years to come. You won’t have to worry about the ink running off of your homemade tag. You may even want to personalize it so that you can see your bag coming from a long way off.

Unpack Your Bags

Once you’ve arrived at your destination, don’t live out of your bag. Unpacking can help to create a feeling of being settled. This can help you to cultivate your normal routine when it comes to getting ready for bed or getting going for the day. It will also be good for your kids’ peace of mind so that they aren’t bouncing off of the walls when it’s time to wind down for the day.

Designate Areas

Having a designated area for your items will ensure that you can locate it when you need it. For example, designating a charging station will eliminate you accidentally leaving something behind. Being on vacation doesn’t mean that you need to throw organization out the window. You can still practice the same principles that you do at home so that you can really enjoy your vacation. This strategy will eliminate the running around at the last minute trying to hunt something down.

Vacation should be a time to relax and enjoy each other. Use these strategies so that you can make the most out of the time that you have away from it all.
