How do you encourage your girls to be anything they want? For our family this meant encouraging them to try activities that struck their fancy. The founders of MyTurn Kid’s Clothing put feet to their desire to encourage their daughter. These clothes are super cute but they are also empowering.
About MyTurn Kid’s Clothing
Meg and Cliff Judy, the founders of MyTurn, are the proud parents of a girl and two boys and live in Missouri. MyTurn was born after a frustrating trip to the store to buy our daughter some T-shirts. After looking extensively for something simple, yet empowering … we ended up in the boys’ section.
We were discouraged by the discrepancy in the messages being sent by the clothing available for our sons compared to the clothing available for our daughter. MyTurn is our attempt to help correct this imbalance.
Who Are the MyTurn Kids?
That’s probably your kid’s favorite phrase, right? We think it’s time girls say that to a broader range of professions. MyTurn wants to give the young girl in your life new role models to inspire their future.
Each MyTurn garment features a girl working in a field where women are vastly underrepresented. Gender roles are a thing of the past. We match the characters with an empowering slogan to prove there’s plenty of room for women in these fields and let your child’s imagination do the rest.
Be it a firefighter, C.E.O., farmer or scientist, we want the next generation of women to confidently say, “It’s my turn!”

My Thoughts on MyTurn:
We have five girls and can relate to the challenges of finding clothing that is as exciting and empowering for girls as you will find for boys in any store. One issue for us was sweats. Girls pants have ribbed ankles and no pockets. My girls wanted pockets and straight legs. But getting little girls to wear boys clothes was a battle in itself.
As our girls grew up and started making plans for college and careers, it was disappointing to see how they were “encouraged” to take a more traditional career path by collage admission staff. I am confident the staff groaned when they saw me coming in with yet another daughter for admission. At one point we had four kids in college at the same time!
In the end, two of our daughters have degrees in criminal justice and one of them is a rescue diver for the state and the other one works in investment fraud. Another daughter is a physical therapist, one is the head pensions for a national grocer, and one is still in school working on a degree in dental school.
All of them have taken non traditional paths and are encouraging their girls that they can be anything they want to be when they grow up. That’s what makes these clothes special. Girls need clothing that depicts careers that draw them in.
If you have girls that would enjoy wearing clothes that show girls can do anything, I recommend the clothing from MyTurn Kid’s Clothing. They have super cute things from cradle to grown up.
