How do you challenge little minds to think outside the box? Do you have a child that loves electronic toys? It amazes me watching ours create things and that moment when they make the connection in their mind. Their eyes light up and the excitement shows on their face. That’s why E-Blox® Educational Electronic Toys are on the top of our shopping list. These are more than toys. They challenge little minds to dig deep and create things that can light up, move, or even fly!
About E-Blox® Educational Electronic Toys
Based in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, E-Blox was launched in 2016 by Art Seymour and his sons James and Joseph after more than 90+ years of combined experience as entrepreneurs, inventors, and designers in the educational toys and wireless industries.
With E-Blox’s plug-together bricks and modules, kids can build literally dozens and dozens of toys and games that light up and make sounds. With E-Blox, a child can easily build a robot with flashing red eyes….or a “pet” that makes sounds…or a real working FM radio…or an airplane propeller that spins at different speeds. Most anything kids can imagine, they can build with E-Blox.
E-Blox is an emerging leader in educational electronic toys and products that engage children to Learn by Building.
Toys that are tons of fun that kids build themselves while building their knowledge in the sciences and arts and equipping them with the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century–and beyond!
Some of our favorite E-Blox® toys that challenge little minds are:
Power Blox™ Standard Set
These are not your standard building blocks. What makes them so much more is that while they be used to build your creations; they also bring them to life. The E-Blox® setup which uses tin-plated blocks that connect to the battery block. This battery block is what powers the electrical components of your creation.
The Power Blox™ Standard Set can be used as a stand alone unit. The package includes 40 pieces including 10 LED’s. It does require a 9V battery to be installed in the power block (battery is not included). My favorite thing about this set is that it is compatible with other toy brick sets. Now your children can bring action and lights to their LEGO® sets they already love. Oh, and because it is battery powered, there are no wires to have to worry about while playing. The circuits are built directly in their creations.
Circuit Blox™ 59
This set of circuit board building blocks will help children learn about electricity, current and voltage as they set launch to a working flying saucer! While this set is also an independent set, it is compatible with other toy brick sets (including the one above).
There are 59 projects that can be built with this set, more than enough to challenge little minds to stretch their brain. It does requires 3 “AA” batteries which are not included in the set. Your children will enjoy bringing lights and action to their LEGO® sets they already own.
Circuit Blox™ Lights ‘N Motion
This light set contains transparent building blocks which when attached to the power bank create an impressive display of light. Because the tiles are transparent, they allow the light to pass through them bringing your creation to life. The base unit does require a battery (not included) but once it is set up, the sky is the limit. As with the other E-Blox® sets, your children can use their LEGO® sets they already own to create unlimited designs.
My Thoughts:
All three of these sets are recommended for children eight (8) years of age and older. They include a warning that the sets include small parts that could be a choking hazard. As a mom, I appreciate brands that are labeling their products with age suggestions and potential warnings.
That said, Colton our six (6) year old, is an electronic whiz and enjoys learning about how things work. I had to laugh when I showed him these sets. He said; “Granma, now you don’t have to keep things for me to take apart”. For the last year, he has asked me to save anything electronic that breaks or we don’t want anymore so he can take it apart and see how it works. I think we may have an engineer in our future.
He enjoys learning how parts work together and was fascinated with building his own flying saucer. He was talking with his dad about if it could fly higher and father if they added a bigger battery. I love listening to them talk about things like this because you can almost see his little mind spinning with thoughts. The conversation continued about how adding weight would make it heavier so not likely to fly higher, but maybe they could find another part in the package that could make the launch have more tension so it would lift off faster. I think he went to sleep dreaming up things he wants to create.
Create things that make noise and move
While they were looking over all the parts that were included, he became quite excited about being able to create things that make noise and move. And when he was told the set could make almost 60 different things he was ready to dig in and create them all right away! The idea of being able to make towers spins and things fly was so exciting him. Of course working with Dad was a huge part of the excitement. These are great sets for some quality relationship time too.
Encourages STEAM learning
Any of these sets would be a great addition to the STEAM programs students are learning in school. The more students dig into learning Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; the farther they will advance in their education and life skills. As fast as technology is advancing, it is important that the skills and knowledge associated with interdisciplinary learning is stressed. No longer can each subject be taught as a stand alone class. By making science, technology, engineering, and math more hands on, students start to see the connections and expand their thinking. Teaching children to think outside the box and bring their thoughts to life, will always have great returns.
This holiday season, provide your little minds with challenging toys from E-Blox® Educational Toys. These educational electronic toys are more than just a toy. Sure, they are a ton of fun to use to build things. And they work with other building block sets, but the real winner is that they challenge little minds to create something that they imagined. And who doesn’t love seeing that moment when a concept is realized or a challenge met? Bring the love of learning to life with E-Blox® Educational Toys.
