Does your family enjoy playing tossing games? I am always surprised at how well the younger ones are at these games. While there is something to be said for having skills, it is funny to watch the younger ones seemingly just toss their rings towards the board and score higher than older, more experienced players. This Summer, Funsparks Games bring back classic games with a twist. These are games that your family will want to add to the game cabinet.

Some of the new classic games that Funsparks has reinvented include:
Based on an older classic Irish bar game dating back to the 50’s, Hook It is making a huge impact in the gaming world. Playing is actually far more challenging that you would expect. There are several versions of play, but basically you toss your rings at the hooks and add up your score based on the hook value.
While this game may be based on an old pub game, this version is perfect for the entire family. It improves hand-eye coordination, builds fine motor skills and even uses basic math! It didn’t take long for some of us to get the hang of tossing the rings. But it also took didn’t take long for some of us to learn that we were not very good at tossing rings! It seemed like everyone was on one end or the other in ring tossing.
Based off the classic game of Bocce, this version will have you shouting for joy or in frustration. And while the game is played the same, the skill set (and a lot of luck) take on a new meaning. The difference is that in Crazy Bocce, the balls are cubes. Yep, cubes. Which of course don’t “roll” exactly as your toss intended. The plus side of tossing cubes is that the game can be played on surfaces that are not smooth or even flat.
The cubes are all vibrant colors; and they have such an erratic bounce; that they really level the playing field. This really is a great game for the entire family. It certainly helps with learning good sportsmanship because the game isn’t over until it is. That one last toss by your toddler can change the results. Win or lose, your crew will have hours of fun!
In this classic ring toss game, players toss the rings at the wooden pegs trying to land their ring on the post scoring the post points. Once all the rings have been tossed, the player with the highest points wins the game.
In order to level the playing field, we set up the wooden peg bases at different distances. This adjustment makes it more challenging for the older players; and still gives the younger ones a fighting chance.
Overall, we have really enjoyed playing these Funsparks games and have added them to our weekly game night. They can all be played inside once the weather changes, and the new twist on these classic games makes them so much fun to play.
