Easy Dollar Store Craft- Flip Flop Hello Sign

If you live in Flip Flops all summer like I do, you’ll love this fun Dollar Store Craft!

 Flip Flops are a classic sign of summer and a make cheery greeting on your front door or gate.  Follow the step by step directions below to create a colorful Flip Flop Hello sign in just about 15 minutes.  A fun and easy craft to complete with the kiddos in an afternoon!

Coordinate the colors to match your home décor, the possibilities are endless!

Materials you need for your Flip Flop Hello Sign!

  • Dollar Store Flip Flops – three pairs
  • Dollar Store Bunch of Flowers
  • Dollar Store Butterflies
  • Embroidered Letters – 3” White Self Adhesive to spell HELLO (available for about 75 cents each at the big box craft stores)
  • Wooden Yardstick
  • Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • Scissors
  • Gardening Shears
  • Ribbon – 36” length

Easy Dollar Store Craft- Flip Flop Hello Sign

Instructions to make your Flip Flop Hello Sign:

Step One

FLIP FLOP HELLO

Layout five of the six flip flops on your work surface.  Measure the yardstick, so it spans the entire length and then cut off the excess with gardening shears.  Hot glue the yardstick to the back of the flip flops, just below the thong button.  Tie ribbon to the first and last thong button to create a hanger.

Step Two

FLIP FLOP HELLO

Turn sign over and position embroidered letters to spell HELLO on the heel portion of the flip flops.

FLIP FLOP HELLO

Peel backing paper off and attach letters to flip flops.

Step Three

Pop the heads off four of the Dollar Store flowers.  Attach to the center of the first, second, third and fifth flip flop strap.

FLIP FLOP HELLO

Attach a Dollar Store butterfly to the center of the fourth flip flop strap with hot glue.

FLIP FLOP HELLO

Done!!  Display your finished masterpiece where all your visitors can see it!
