As we start thinking about back to school it’s probably on your mind to start thinking about the preschool years. Is sending your preschooler off to school something you aren’t sure if they need? I was there a few times, and I am there now. We are our kids first teachers and it’s important that we give them the tools they need to develop their learning and readiness skills at home as well. My daughter has always taken a big interest in writing, drawing and loves when I read to her every day. At just one years old she was already sitting with her big brothers as they completed their homework and always asked for her own “school work”. The Teach My Preschooler kit is an all-in-one teaching tool for ages 3+ and it’s the kit my daughter is currently using. She’s a few weeks shy of 3 years old and showing a big interest in her letters and numbers so this preschool kit is perfect for her.

The teaching guides allow you to progressively teach your child starting from the very basics to more kindergarten readiness.
Right now my daughter is loving the magic drawing board. It is the perfect tool to develop writing. She can practice her letters and numbers using the transparencies to see how they are written. It will be great for her to also start spelling, and working math problems on. It’s lightweight and can easily pack away or be used on the go.
The posters are great learning tools to help with memorization and identifying numbers. The kit instructions advise you to work 20 minutes a day and keep the learning fun and engaging. We treat our Teach My Preschooler Kit like a toy. Open it at the table where her focus can just be on the kit and she has no other distractions. I always let her decide if she wants to start with reading, writing or numbers. She loves all the activities, so it’s exciting for her to get to open a subject.
My Thoughts
What I love most about the Teach My kits is that they are screen-free. This is our time to immerse my preschooler in a world of learning that she truly enjoys. She will sit quietly and allow me to direct her on what to do. We use the foam numbers to make games like matching the ones, two, threes… We also put them in order and make the numbers we find in the book. The kit allows you to add your own teaching ideas and use all the tools for your child’s entire preschool years and beyond. The books are vibrant and engaging, so even though she is still on the step 1 book, we do enjoy opening the others and “reading” those. She will usually take the initiative to start pointing out the pictures in the books.
The kit has been a great engaging toy for my daughter. She will enthusiastically ask to do her school work and loves to learn her letters and numbers. I don’t pressure her to use it daily, right now we are opening it up and using it 2-3 times a week. Some days it’s just ten minutes and some days it’s almost thirty minutes. I find that if I hide it and keep it out of sight, it’s more exciting for her when we do take it out to use. As the month’s progress, I plan to add another day to her learning with the kit and after time and with her becoming more interested make it more of a routine.
If you are looking to immerse your child in preschool learning and preschool readiness you will love this kit. The easy to follow guides help you each step of the way and the Teach My Preschooler Learning kit is very easy to use.
