One of my favorite crafts my son ever made for me was a birdhouse. He actually helped build it and then painted it all by himself. I had to be a birdhouse because he knew I had a collection of birdhouses and he wanted his to be up on the shelves too! I still have that birdhouse- it’s one of my favorites and most colorful!
If you’re looking for a fun and easy craft to make with your kids, this birdhouse is perfect. Make it for mom for Mother’s Day or just make it to celebrate spring!

Supplies:
- Styrofoam (2 inch thick).
- Colorful Craft Papers.
- Popsicle Sticks
- X-acto knife
- Scissors.
- Glue.
- Water Color Paint.
- Brushes.
- Sponge.
- Markers.
- Ruler.
Instructions:
Step 1:
Use the house template to cut out the house’s pattern. Click here to print it out.
Step 2
Take a red craft paper and place it over the birdhouse pattern.
Step 3
Wrap the house pattern using the red craft paper.
Step 4
Now cut out a circular piece from the middle part of the birdhouse pattern.
Step 5
Now cut out a 2 inch width blue paper strip. The strips length should be same as the circles circumference.
Step 6:
Now glue the paper strip inside the circular cut area.
Step 7:
Then take another blue piece of paper slightly larger than the circle, and glue it on the back of the birdhouse.
Step 8:
Take 10 Popsicle sticks and slightly cut the tip of them to make the edges flat.
Step 9:
Glue the Popsicle sticks on top of the birdhouse as the roof of the house.
Step 10:
Use paints and markers to decorate and add a little detail to the birdhouse.
Step 11:
Use the owl template to print out the owls pattern on a thick white paper. Then cut it out and paint it with acrylic paint or water colors.
Step 12:
Then glue a thin sponge on the back of the owl and then glue the bird to the birdhouse.
And there you go. Your birdhouse is READY!
