This Easter give your children the gift of word play in their baskets. With these games the kids can sharpen their minds while they indulge in their jelly beans and peeps. If they find Lexicon Go! in their basket they will have a great game that will last a lot longer then candy, and help them to use their brain while they have a wonderful time.
About Lexicon Go!
This fun, fast paced game centers on getting rid of all your tiles by creating words, swapping letters, and attacking other players’ words. Both Lexicon Go!, and Lexicon Go! Harry Potter Edition come in cool, portable bags. Therefore they are perfect to take anywhere and everywhere. These games are fun for any age, and make great family time games. Plus they will fit nicely into the kids Easter baskets, and also make great birthday and other holiday gifts.
Playing the Game
I have some Harry Potter fans in my household, so we all were very excited to play this Lexicon Go! Harry Potter Edition. Both this game and the original are played the same, except this one has spell tiles which up the excitement of the fast paced game. Everyone gets ten tiles, and one player then shouts Lex-Go! and the race is on. Be the first player to use all your tiles up by making words, or adding on to other players’ words. You can also swap tiles in their words, or use a spell.
One spell Polyjuice is used like a wild card, and the other 4 spell tiles have different functions. One messes up the other player’s tiles, one makes another player close their eyes and count for ten seconds, one allows you to look at the draw pile tiles before picking, and the last banishes a tile from your hand this round. A round is super quick and you play 5 rounds to determine the winner. If the spells are too complex due to the speed of the game, they can all be used as wild tiles. We had to use them as wilds because the kids were too fast at this game, and if we were trying to figure spells too, it would be a sad day for the parentals.
Mom’s Thoughts
This game was fun, and nerve racking at the same time. I think the more we play it the better we will become at making words and swapping letters. Then we can start to use the spells, which will add a fantastic dimension to this fun game. I know when the kids play each other or have friends over the spells will make this game so much better than it would otherwise be. Especially for Harry Potter fans who are familiar with the spell names: Expelliarmus, Stupefy, Revelio, and Depulso. I was familiar with the first two, and I like this element in the game. I cannot wait to try the game again with the spells. Plus, I also have to add that I really love the case of this one. It is so neat looking, and I like the colors, white and gold, that they chose.
The original Lexicon Go! is played the same way without the spells. Both of these games will help young players to become better with spelling. They will see words other players make and add them to their repertoire of words. Since they are portable they can play these games in the car, or on vacations. They can also take them to a friend’s house for word fun with friends.
Lexicon Go! and Lexicon Go! Harry Potter Edition will make wonderful Easter gifts this year, and if you need more to fill their baskets grab a Top Trumps deck to go with it. This game is also fast paced and very easy for all ages to play. Plus it comes in awesome deck choices like Harry Potter, Star Wars, Minions and many more! Make this Easter unforgettable with Lexicon Go! and Top Trumps.
