I’ve had kids in public school and homeschool and I can honestly say in both settings, I’ve had certain kids who tend to lose focus on their task. Teachers and parents can’t just stand over a student all day to get him or her to pay attention, but it can really become a problem if they aren’t kept on track either! An easy to use wrist unit that provides a silent, gentle vibration to the user when they seem to be off task. Available with several different modes and settings, and offers other features such as a step counter, focus tracking app, customizable schedules, and more. It also provides wireless syncing by using the Bluetooth technology between the unit and your smartphone or tablet.
My Thoughts:
There are some people that we all know who will be on track one moment and suddenly lose themselves down a rabbit hole. I myself can be guilty of this as well, especially if I’m tired or stressed out. And we won’t (and shouldn’t) always have our boss or a teacher or parent standing behind us, tapping us on the shoulder to get us focused again. So what can we do about it? Especially for our school age children who are in a classroom setting and need to stay focused in order to retain the information they are being taught! They need that “gentle tap” to get their attention without having to stop the teacher or potentially embarrass them in front of the class. Enter the Revibe Connect Plus!
Stylish Design
It’s a small black square unit that goes on the wrist like a watch. It uses normal watch-like straps to make it easy to take on and off while remaining comfortable to wear. Depending on the mode selected, the person wearing the Revibe Connect Plus unit will receive gentle vibration reminders to make sure they are on task.
If they are on track, they tap the unit once to confirm they are doing what they are supposed to be. Otherwise, they can tap it twice and then use it as motivation to focus again. All of that data is stored and presented to the parents with the Focus Tracking App available on your smartphone or tablet. It keeps track of how many times the student was on track (or not) and allows you to start tracking trends. Data Saved
All of that data can then be used to set up custom schedules! Maybe they don’t need those reminders during certain subjects, but need more of them in others. All of that information can be viewed by the child as well, so they can be proud of their efforts and learn from any trouble areas that come up. It’s become part of our nightly ritual to set the Revibe Connect Plus unit on the USB charger and then go over the day’s results on my smartphone together. I love when my son can be proud of how many times he was on track and we can discuss the times when he wasn’t if there’s a trend.
Gentle Reminders
The timing of the reminders can be as close as 4 minutes apart up to 10 minutes apart. You can also set it up for a homework setting that allows for a reminder every 3 minutes for a 15 minute session then a nudge to take a 5 minute brain break. Finally, the last mode is for custom learning which allows the Revibe Connect Plus to react to the users one or two tap responses and adjust with more or fewer “nudges”.
You can also set up custom text alerts, such as a reminder to grab all their books 10 minutes before the last bell or pay extra attention in a specific class. It also provides the current time and can also track steps taken during the day!
Not Just for Kids
Now, it’s not just for kids either but a wonderful tool to help adults stay on task and improve their productivity! No one knows that you have a little nudge or reminder since it operates like a watch and looks like the activity trackers everyone seems to wear these days. And you can always slip it off if you’re deviating from your normal schedule by going to a presentation so the unit will go to sleep until you put it back on.
It’s also recharable with a USB cord and it’s recommended to charge it every night for the best battery use. The app will also allow for multiple units to be tracked if you’re using it for several children or yourself and a child! Simply use the Bluetooth setting to sync up the unit(s) every night for the latest data. Plus the Revibe Connect Plus is water resistant so it doesn’t have to be removed when your washing your hands during the day!
